If it helps don't think of it as turning 30, but your 10th anniversary of turning 20

Thinking that was a bloody good homemade lasagne. I learnt a lot from living with Italians. Just need a few more friends to share it with!

Italian cooking skills: check.
Italian hospitality skills: need working on.

Are you honest about how you met someone if you started chatted to them on this forum, or do you lie? I was just wondering if other so called normal people would understand.

^^You could just say you met online originally. I don't suppose you need to go into detail about where online if you don't feel like it.

Sent an old friend a Happy Birthday message this morn. Got me thinking about age again. She's 39 - I will be later on this year. God it's depressing How the f**k have I got so close to 40.

I don't fully understand what's going on in my head

But 6 months ago I was quite up for the idea of meeting someone so I did the whole signing up to a dating site malarkey

Now? It couldn't be further from the truth.. I don't want the hassle in my life? I don't know what's going on. Have I become asexual? Or.. Which is it.. I still see women and find them attractive.. Especially with the warmer weather and the smaller clothes appearing.. But the idea of getting involved with them? No thanks

I know I'm 100% straight.. But really can't be bothered, I closed my okcupid account.. People say you need to do what makes you happy so I am, shame it's not something a 31 year old should be doing

How pathetic it is to need other people. I'd much rather think of myself as being an eremite who shuns other people out of choice. But that would be bullshit. It's alway easier to feel part of the human race when there's someone there to vouch for you. The policeman stops you and says "What are you doing here?", and it's nice to be able to say that I'm here with X who'll confirm that I'm a human being.

Which admittedly makes me sound batshit crazy, but I'm not talking literaly, just trying to distil all the paranoia and alienation into one easily digested vol-au-vant. Yum Yum. My social apathy has just been an excuse to avoid social anxiety. Of course people are going to seem boring and shallow when you always keep them at a distance. The thought of always being alone scares me. If a tree falls in the woods and no-one is there to hear it then it might as well not have bothered existing at all. Well that sentence is wrong for several reasons but oh well.
