I'm sorry to hear that too nat, the person I also lost today was my furry friend, my shadow that follows me everywhere.

Unreal at the devastation we feel, I never thought I would feel like that over an animal. I had her from 5wks old and she was with me 7 years a fortnight ago. Her sister and best friend (sophie) is missing her big time and wimpering away heartbreaking listening to her. I'm gonna make myself cry again after writing this meh

^ Animals definitely become part of the family. I was heartbroken when my dog (who I grew up with) died about 18 months ago. Still get upset thinking about it now.

unreal mate I feel like I've lost a child or something. I knew something was up with her last night so spent the night on the sofa with her cuddling and took her to the vet this morning. He gave her some medication for her heart murmur and injection for the fluid on her lungs. 30mins later she collapsed with a suspected bloodclot/stroke. That vision will always hunt me of her foaming at the mouth I can still smell her (((( meh

I had to have my cat put to sleep last Wednesday and it's a heartbreaking decision to have to make but it's the kindest thing we can do for our furry friends when they become so poorly/old. But knowing that doesn't help us miss them any less does it

It's heartbreaking when we lose a pet because they become such an important part of our family so you certainly shouldn't feel in the slightest bit silly about feeling so devastated. She was obviously very much loved during her 7 years with you and hopefully that will bring you a little comfort
