can you actually cure social anxiety?
can you actually cure social anxiety particularly after you start believing in yourself. Or do you think it might always remain a problem and is more a case of managing it? i mean other "normal" people worry what others think to some degree

Re: can you actually cure social anxiety?
It is probably possible, it will take a lot of effort though I think. Since 'normal' people get nervous and stuff, there will probably always be a degree of anxiety.

Re: can you actually cure social anxiety?
Yes. Worldwide genocide.
I think you can. I hope so. I think it's best to believe you can do anything. It's very feasibly within your control. It's probably a long journey to understanding yourself and other people better. Maybe your chances of regression differ depending on the root cause. If your issue is purely with confidence then other factors affecting it might put you a step back. If, like me, you have a general cynicism and a mistrust of people then it might be easier to stay on the other side; post enlightenment. That's probably nonsense, we're all affected by ebs and flows in confidence. It might be easier to bounce back once you've increased your understanding, and can look at back at the old you, seeing the mistakes. Maybe that isn't true either. Re: can you actually cure social anxiety?
I don't personally think there is anything to cure. I know it is a severe problem but ‘cure’ does not seem the right word. I’m 43 and I had never heard of the term ‘social anxiety’ until I was over 30. I’m not the SA person I used to be. I was very SA when I was younger, right from childhood to...to always. But now I can deal with many social situations that would have left me absolutaly frozen. The only things I struggle with are the things I never really had a chance to practice or expose myself to over the years, and that is speaking up within groups of people. I don’t think there is much else I fear and that is an amazing thing to say considering how I used to be.
