Hot air in London - nothing new there

As much as i'd like to accept their invitation to a glass of water, i'd be then harrassed with the obligation to be nicer to them and mayb even talk to them/get to know them a little better ... don't want that

Now, the lady with the short, floaty summer dress .. i came close to accepting, but then i remembered seeing 'mrs' on the parcel

It's a great way to break the ice and i'm kinda flattered that i've been offered because, to me, it suggests that i'm 'okay'/decent and they don't mind helping me out a bit.

I just don't like the thought of being offered and then the possibility of being asked to 'come in for a minute' or to stop and chat.. probably just me being silly.

How long were you a postie for? Royal Mail?

What's going on? It's pouring down outside, my windows are open and the temperature in the house is 24 degrees. Really sticky and uncomfortable!

Storm did not come unless I slept through it, but then I didn't sleep very well last night due to a) having chocolate at about 8pm and b) staying up late to watch Michael McIntyre (go ahead, silently judge me).

Lovely reassuring headline on The Daily Express yesterday; BEWARE STORMS MAYHEM.
All that was needed were the words; If Only Diana Were Here. or Storm Causes Cancer.

Just been raining all morning.

^ Had a little bit of a storm here (Hampshire) because the dog started panting and scratching about in the bathroom (she gets anxious).

Is the McIntyre talk show thing back?

Oh goodness me it's raining a lot here. Just nipped to the shops and by the time I got back it looked like someone had chucked a bucket of water over me!

I don't think your dog scratching and panting would cause a storm

Very wet and windy here (Merseyside)

Anyone from Bilton near Hull on here and all safe?? Reports coming out that a tornado has ripped through there, pictures on twitter of tree's down and radar grabs of hook echo.

I drove from scarborough to hull a few hours ago, was a bit hairy to say the least. Will likely have a ride through bilton tomorrow to see if it's still standing.

Thundering, lightening, chucking it down and blowing a gale here.
I'll be glad when my youngest gets in, I think his little car will struggle especially if the wind is against it.

From a few weeks ago, but I thought I'd post it for a laugh cause I got deja vu from last year when I saw this headline:

Quote:
Winter 2014 set to be 'coldest for century' Britain faces ARCTIC FREEZE in just weeks
Where was this headline, yep, you guessed it, The Express! We joked about the same sensationalist journalism this time last year and it turned out to be a very mild winter and I wouldn't be surprised if we get another mild winter this year (though I'd like some snow!)

http://www.express.co.uk/news/nature...-snow-November

The thing that annoys me is that someone is being paid to write this stuff

I woke up to a very slight frost here this morning. So technically there has been a "white" Christmas.

According to the Met Office website, in the Midlands any snow will be on hills with sleet and rain to lower levels. Perhaps lower levels further north will see some snow although it doesn't look like there will be much.
