Re: Sa/ blushing
It can do as it is designed to make you feel more confident in those situations that may presently produce fear and all the attendant intense physical feelings generated by adrenaline. Of which blushing is just one. You may still blush but it may not seem as important as it once did.

Re: Sa/ blushing
I found that my chronic blushing was related to my hormones! I was on the contraceptive pill but now that I'm off it ***8211;*my blushing is mostly just around my period. So for female sufferers, taking note of your hormones might help! But also CBT helped me too :o)

Re: Sa/ blushing
My blushing dissipated as i got older and more cynical. I then found i stopped thinking about it, which made it cease completely. I think it's the fear of blushing that makes you blush. Once the fear goes, the blushing goes with it. That's my experience anyway.

Re: Sa/ blushing
^ Logotherapy would have you try as hard as you could to blush. Most likely when you tried to blush, you would find you actually couldn't do it. So getting you to think your hardest about doing the very thing you fear. It seemed to work for some.

Re: Sa/ blushing
Didn't know there was a word for it, but that makes sense. My strategy was to try and ignore it, and not acknowledge it by trying to hide my face when i felt myself blushing. It was hard, but it worked in time.

Re: Sa/ blushing
Hi there, I'm new
This is my main problem, blushing. I have just started to use Clinique Redness Solutions as I am hoping to return to work soon and have just started working on a voluntary basis to get my confidence up as haven't worked for the past 15 years! I will let you know if it's any good or not. Also I have just booked my first session of CBT so I can let you know how that goes as well! Dreading it of course! |
