Haha mine has caught a few creepy crawlies itself and I have fed it a few times with frozen mealworms.
It really has an appetite for woodlice though

I probably should have put less garlic in my hummus. That was a difficult eat.

That's a well cared for venus flytrap I will give you that lol how big is it 6ft ? :p

D1662, I have been looking at cars because if I get this job going to buy one once I can afford it. I noticed a lot of small cars like corsa, clio, fox, polo and so on have mileage well over a hundred, when would you say the mileage is too much and to not bother buying it because it would be too much of a risk?

What do I say if I'm asked why I've been out of work for so long? :/ do I mention anxiety, depression and drinking? Or do I just keep it vague? Just say I went through a bad period?

^Depends on the person asking. Trouble is people can be absolute scumbags when it comes to the long term unemployed.

I'd just say you have a long term illness and don't like to talk about it.

You could say you've been ill with anxiety and depression I guess. I'm not so sure about disclosing drinking.

I tend to be vague about stuff like that unless asked really directly.

^^&^ to be honest, I just know I'm going to blurt it out anyway. I always flippin' do lol
I mean, I didn't even include the 3 week job I had in December on my CV. I mean, saying they asked me to leave because I didn't pick it up quick enough doesn't put me in a good light.

^ yeah, I definitely think that would be the best thing to do but it is something I am terrible at. Probably just going to have to say how it is I reckon and hope for the best! But like Mo says, just not mention the drink.

I guess I have to think, if he doesn't appreciate honesty then best I don't work for him. Or is that naive ? Lol

^ well this probably sounds weirder haha but its like my mind won't let me. I feel like I'm being fake if I say anything other than what has happened to me. I wouldn't even know what else to say that would sound good! I even shocked myself when I looked at my CV and realised it had been over 4 years since I last had a job (minus the one in December).

Hey up! Thank you for the kind responses. I have just got from the site introduction, it seemed to go well. He asked if I had any I.D. On me to speed up the process but I didn't. I was told they would fit me in either tomorrow or wednesday to do medical, h&s test and induction, and will start next week.

I was just honest about why I was out of work, I said I had suffered with depression and the guy was totally reasonable about it and didn't dig out any more details on the matter.

I just need to show I will be reliable and I think I'll be ok.

Thank you everyone
I start my induction tomorrow morning at 9am. I can't remember whether he said I will start by the beginning of next week or at the beginning of next week.
I get moments where I freak out (like now ha!) thinking of the constant pressure to talk to people but to get to do the things I want to do, I have to do this and save up some pennies.

Yes Mo, I just said to him I was dreading him asking that question. And I just said I have to be honest and hope for the best, and told him! Glad I did because put me at ease, and he seemed a nice guy.

Really appreciate the support from you all, man, thank you

The people that have blatantly stepped out in front of my car today. The worst was a woman who caused havoc on the other side of the road (I couldn't see her or what was causing everyone to stop) she then from nowhere wandered right in front of my car pushing her bike whilst I was doing about 50mph (scaring the living daylights out of me)
She was one of 3 similar idiots today - she however was pretty lucky she wasn't hit. My breaking skills certainly got a work out.

My ex and I broke up shortly after my birthday last year; he had given me a card with a really heartfelt message in it (it's difficult for him to express his feelings), about how the year we'd been together had been the happiest of his life and he's so glad he met me and so on. I've kept it. I've tried a few times to throw it out but I can't bring myself to do it. Is there any harm in keeping it?

Personally, I don't think so. It reminds you of how happy you made someone. And that reflects very well on you.

On days that you feel down, look at the card and remind yourself of all your good qualities.

Wondering what to do with my dog when I start working.
Options seem to be:
Dog walker- prefer if someone spent more time with him
Dog sitter- same as above
Neighbour- know three people with dogs that may have him during day
Dog day care- probably unaffordable but best option.

^ I know, I am pleased you said that about dog walkers because I was concerned as to whether they would be reliable, and be up to standard. Its a big step just allowing your dog to just be taken out with a dog walker isn't it? And the thing is I'm not sure he would walk with a dog walker.

I will have a scout about for day centres because I love the idea of him just playing around and having fun all day. It will take away a lot of my guilt.

Well Mel, if He ever think I am being cruel and my work pattern affects him badly, as much as I love the fella, I think I'd have to think about finding him a good owner.

My flipping car is struggling to start. I noticed it slightly over the last few days but has been bad all day today. I thought I was gonna be broken down on my counsellors driveway the s'morning!

Hoping it's just a spark plug or something....
Also hoping it will start tomorrow....

I've just been invited on a trip to Brighton with a gay friend, solely for the purpose of exploring the gay scene.
Only two problems 1 I'm not single and 2 I'm an anxious idiot.
Another experience to miss out on, yayyy

Even if your not single, you can still go out and enjoy the scene.
