Well done Kev! Thought you hadn't been around for a while and that explains why. So are we all invited to the wedding?

If anybody is wondering..I did it the traditional way. Went to ask her mam and dad's permision first without jane knowing lol. I also went down on one knee to propose.

The proposal was done saturday gone in spain (my first ever holiday abroad) a place called fuengirola..and I proposed on the balcony of our appartment in front of fantastic views including the castle, the sea and mountains all in one view I chose this spot as I didn't really want to carry the ring about in my pocket..plus I wanted it to be a private proposal rather in a public place

It can be seen as too early, fast moving or whatever...which is fair enough I can understand that. Nothing is ever set in stone and even now I realise that things could change even before the wedding goes ahead in a years time. But as of this very moment..we first met nearly 6 months ago and we both very much in love...it just feels right for us both and we know what we want.

I didn't ask her out of the blue either..she knew it was going to happen..we have spoke about it for a few months and she has pretty much been saying 'hurry up and ask me the answer is defo yes'. Anyways yeah..so that's that

As for the progress I've made...well it's been absolutely massive. You guys who know me on here know I was in a bad way last year..but sheer determination along with courage to change has got me where I am now. The thing is I still carry those problems around with me..they have weakened but they still very much there. Im just learning to get on with things and learning to push myself to do things regardless of how I see myself or how I may be feeling at the time.

I still struggle a lot being within a group of people..my unwanted thoughts and stress levels can become very high at times..sometimes I can feel quite on edge. But I still put myself in that situation because I'd rather do that and have a life than not do it at all and have no life.

I've also noticed that you start to feel alive and you begin to feel like an actual individual person when you allow others into your life (not just a girlfriend..but anybody)...they notice your personality and qualities..which in turn allows you to notice your own personality and qualities..which can be hard to see and feel when you blinded with struggles.

So yeah..things are good right now and im happy Me and my gf get on great..and her family and friends all love me too Here's hoping that things carry on going well for me and all you others out there seeking change

Oh btw we going to be getting married in Italy next year sometime within the month of august. It's an absolutely beautiful location we have penciled in for it. Now we just have to start planning it all very soon

That was really great to read. It's wonderful to see just how far you've come from the state you were in last year. Good for you. Gives us all hope.

Yeah I do realise it is very soon..but who's to say there is a time scale My mam and dad where engaged 6 months after meeting and they've now been married nearly 35years

I would forget about those saying "it's too early". No one can really tell.
I've heard of couples who were gf & bf for years before tying the knot and then they split fairly soon after the wedding, and vice versa of course.
Only you two really have a handle on it.

Im one of the cynical ppl like who read this and thought '6 months, too soon!' but you know what, lifes too short and all that so i say try and look at the brighter side of it in that like your parents you could be happily married for yrs.
