Avatars
I'm in the process of activating avatars-woo hoo! At the moment, you cannot upload your own avatars, but you can choose one of the set ones. I will warn you though-some of the large avatars will not work properly yet. I'm still playing with some options.
I hope custom avatars will be available in a couple hours. Anne |

Okay-I'm done working for the night. Not completely sure everything is working perfectly, but mostly it seems to be- you all can let me know about any problems and I'll work on it more tomorrow night.
There is a set of a couple hundred avatars available if you go to 'user cp', 'edit avatar' or you can upload your own custom avatar. Custom avatars: you can upload any picture you like, assuming it is legal and not against db guidelines, but there are limits to size: 150 pixels width 110 pixels height 30000 bytes maximum size. There is an image resizer link in the FAQ if you have something too big that you need to resize. There might be changes in the next couple days as we figure out how this affects the speed of the db, but I hope there will be no problems. Remember also, if you are on dial-up, you can disable avatars or signatures in your user CP to speed up loading threads. Anne |

One quick question. I linked mine to an off site link but it still seems to have uploaded it to the boards hosting. I'm quite happy to link the image on my own hosting therefore saving you a little bandwidth if you enable that option.
