Ginger Snaps shook me up pretty bad when I was younger. Watched it when I was home alone, and the landing light wasn't working so my mum found me asleep on the settee with the light on...I scare easily

I was actually scared of The Incredible Hulk as a kid even though he's sort of a good guy - I just found Lou Ferrigno scary with the wig and the green skin. Seems crazy now! :-)

I've become easily scared in my old age!

The Ring (TV scene is a classic)
The Grudge (The scene walking down the stairs making clicking noises)
Blairwitch Project
Eraserhead
Rec
The Shining
Probably loads more I can't think of at the moment.

I was scared of the Daleks as a kid. :-(

There was a Trilogy of Terror film on once, and I only remember one of the stories.
It was about a little African, warrior type doll and it had a warning that you must never break its chain. Well, of course, this woman accidentally did and it hunted her through her flat with its spear and big teeth. It hid under the bed etc. Freaked me right out. I got my Mum to check under my bed for days after that. I was about 18 at the time.

I don't really find fantasy stuff scary normally.
I think I was scared by The Shining.
Salem's Lot scared me for some reason.
I liked The Exorcist, more for shock value.

The first time I saw the film Even Horizon I found it pretty scary. Theres some short but nasty scenes in that. I don't enjoy the extreme kind of horror films.

I remember that being on tv when I was a kid. I only saw the airlock scene and thought it was revolting. Also, I've since found out, completely unscientific. If you were exposed to the vacuum of space you'd just suffocate, nothing would get sucked out of your body, you might feel a gentle pulling but thats it.

Fire In The Sky. I was watching this film in bed in the early hours, and right when it got to this bit-

there was a god damn power cut! The worst moment possible for that to happen!
I was too scared to move. The power came back on, but not like normal, the lights were really dim, almost not on at all, my digital alarm clock said the time was something like 99:99. I was petrified. I managed to get my nerve together and creep downstairs fully expecting to see a fecking grey alien standing there. I turned on the tv and there was a purple (or was it green?) circle on the screen. So, the clocks were saying it's 99 past 99, the tv had a purple circle on it, the lights were all dim, and I'd just been watching this film about alien abduction. I was so scared I went into the garden ready to run away. Bear in mind this was quite recent too

Films about alien abduction scare the pants off me, I don't know why I choose to watch them in the dead of night.

the scariest film I ever saw was Communion, especially this bit.

Eep!

Yep and Hostel 2.

Neither film was scary, but both were very disturbing and unsettling.

In fact Hostel 2 is the only movie Ive ever stopped watching cause I found the storyline so unpleasant!!

Tend to avoid any films of that genre nowadays

Has anyone seen The Watcher in the Woods? It's a Disney children's film, but it scared the hell out of when I saw it on BBC 2 when I was a kid. It's got this eerie, distinctively English quality to it.

Not really "Scary" as such but found that Julia's Eyes & Shutter (original version) made me jump when watching in the dark alone...both great movies in my opinion

It's not so bad, really, probably quite tame by most people's standards. I quite like it, well, I did quite like it, I'll never watch it again that's for damn sure.

But if you found that clip scary never ever watch Communion (unless you want to be scared shitless), even watching the trailer makes me check outside the curtains.

Hmm, can't really remember any.
Pet Cemetery was pretty sordid and outlandish.

Ghost Busters scared the shit out me though.

I just not effected by fear from films in the same way I would consider the word scary to be related with. If you want scary then try living with general anxiety and stepping outside or something. I find films to be either funny or boring when they try to represent fear.

Was it this by any chance? Arachnophobia has always given me the heebie-jeebies.
