Live music - gigs - festivals
I'm a big lover of music and for me live music is the best. Does anyone else get too any gigs? Any coming up or heading to any festivals? Whose your fav band to see live!?

Re: Live music - gigs - festivals
I always go to a few gigs every year (wish it was more but they're getting very expensive and it costs a lot from where I live to travel to anywhere that has any good bands playing) and I did go to glastonbury for 4 years running, but losing contact with the friends I used to go with for SA reasons and money reasons means I can't go this year and whether I'll ever be able to go again I'm not sure, as I don't think I could cope going on my own, just praying radiohead aren't headlining the year I don't go
But yeah, its always been an awesome, special experience, the atmosphere, the various sights of the vast site, always such incredible music (every year at least a couple of my favourite bands are there), brothers cider, even the food's amazing! So hope I can get my shit together and manage to go again in the future, watching it all on the tv sucks. |

Seeing My Bloody Valentine and hopefully Yo La Tengo in March not really been to any gigs for a few months. I used to go regularly when I lived in the centre of Manchester, but since I moved back out to the sticks I've hardly been to any. Too much like hard work to get there and back.

^ I'm seeing MBV too, can't wait! I've also got tickets to see Frank Turner and The Breeders later this year.
I usually go to about 10-15 gigs a year, and have been to about 10 festivals as well... my last gig was Dinosaur Jr last Friday, who were incredible. More often than not I end up going alone as I don't really know anyone who has similar music taste to me (plus I don't really know anyone in general ha ). |

I'm into my gigs too. I usually travel to Newcastle or Leeds (I particularly like going to the Brudenell Social Club). My next gigs are Low in April and then hopefully Latitude Festival in July

I wanted too see Dinosaur Jr but didn't go in the end due to not having anyone to go with, maybe we should start a "Who wants to go and see X Gig" type thing

Re: Live music - gigs - festivals
I have always loved music and going to see live bands, but have dropped these over the last three years, largely due to depression. I did make an effort to see Grizzly Bear last year who were fab, and Spiritualized after that but was a bit disappointed with them

^ you were a bit disappointed with Spiritualized? I still kick myself for not going to see him doing a performance of Ladies and Gentlemen with an orchestra.

I'm going to see My Bloody Valentine in London next month. I don't have anyone to go with but I've been to gigs alone before and don't want to miss the chance to see them. I don't suppose anyone here is going on the 12th?
