Rambo (2008) 4/10

Some nice gore effects, but that's about it. What can I say, there was nothing else on!

Had not seen any of those Masters of Horrors before, ended up watching one at random last night. It was a John Landis one with Norm from Cheers in it, some nice dark humour 7/10. Quite pleased I've suddenly got 25 more episodes of something decent to get through.

Yer me too! It isn't your attention span, you just know good films. One that breaks away from the norm, grabs you by the balls (or ovaries) and doesnt let go. I'd suggest for action, watch The Raid, blissful and unrelenting, or for horror/revenge, I Saw The Devil, one of my all time faves!

I don't mind slow films, just not sure if I liked the twist

Yeah, I was with it up until the twist which lost me a bit tbh.

Enjoyable, but could have been much better if they didn't go down that path IMO.

Riff-Raff - 9/10

Ken Loach comedy-drama centred on a Glaswegian builder who goes off to work in London after getting out of prison. Emer McCourt is very cute in this - shame she doesn't seem to have appeared in much else.

Stitches - 6.5/10

I'm not really a big slasher film fan but I'm a huge Ross Noble fan so I gave it a shot. It was fun. The gore is probably as extreme as it gets but it's only ever funny, didn't really make me squirm that much apart from maybe one 'kill' and this bit right at the start that isn't even shown on screen. Ross Noble shouldn't launch an acting career off this but he does make a good slasher film villain.

Currently watching Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. What a load of shit.

All the characters are just horrible and far too orange. Script is poor.

Hahaha, I love American psycho, I need to see it again. It's such a strong film, especially that scene.

Do you like Huey and the news?

I watched exit through the gift shop.

Really cool, know a lot more about bansky. A lot to be discussed about after.

9/10

Hell - 7/10
Apocalyptic drama reminiscent of The Road etc. Simple, short and bleak about three survivors on an Earth Scorched by Sun who discover that the deadliest hazard to be found is other survivors. Not a game changer, but I was gripped from start to finish.

Reign Over Me - 8/10

Adam Sandler is well cast in a film where he actually has a good excuse for acting like a giant manbaby. To be fair he actually does but in a good performance, there's emotional depth. I kind of respect him for not falling into the trappings of trying to become a serious actor and instead focusing on the films where he can make the most money for the least amount of work, and only occasionally doing something like this or Punch Drunk Love. Also Don Cheadle is the man.

Cabin t'in the Woods, Like

A bit cheesy with mediocre acting, but I liked the general setup.

Rating = Three kidney beans out of a barf stool.

That film was part of a course I took once. It was about the progression of independent British cinema in the 1960s and how it was influenced and went on to influence the cinema of other countries.

That was many years ago now.
