Default Making exercise a habit....

Ive been doing a bit of research on the net about how to make exercise a habit.

I feel like a real failure sometimes with my exercise commitment. I really got a habit going for a while in March but skipped a few days and it all went South.

Apparently you need to exercise every day for 30 days for it to become a habit.

Im seriously up for trying this.....only 10 minutes a day...but to get the habit going....

Has anyone else ever tried this? I think it would be good for self esteem , more than anything else.

Would anybody like to join me on this?

I'd like to. The problem that I have is that as soon as I strain something I say that I need a day off to rest it and then never get back to it. Maybe having other people also doing it will shame me into not skipping (or it will make me lie about having done it).

I've broken my gym routine and haven't been all month. I need to get back into it somehow.
I couldn't do it every day though. I just don't have the time. I was doing three sessions a week at my hardest, for about two hours after work. Plus changing, showers and travel adds a lot on to it.
If you have a daily routine, you can add some exercise to it. Use the stairs instead of the lift. Run to a further away bus stop or station.

The research was saying that in order to make it a habit you need to do it everyday for a fixed length of time, and then it becomes natural.

It does take time out of your day but I was doing like....10 minutes at a go.

Mostly at the gym but thats so boring. Ive had a few social anxiety moments too with strangers telling me Im not using the equipment right.

Im thinking of taking up jogging again, now the weather is better, can run on grass. I remember before it did wonders for my mental health.

I would like to join a gym but don't want to have the awkward induction thing with a personal trainer.

I run every morning. It wakes me up and it's easier to get it out of the way early on, so I don't have to think about it later on!
