Re: The 80s music thread
Thats ok pink we're even as you've just beaten me with the brill I RAN, love the Flock of Seaguls self titled first album and still play their greatest hits cd, they were so under rated here in the uk, were actually bigger in the usa than here. Lead singer Mike Score lives in the usa now, just out of interest my 80's haircut in my fashion post started out with the intention of being like his, but my hair was not long enough so that was the final result

Re: The 80s music thread
My fav 80's synth pop track, the group were local to me and although a hit in my local nightclubs it never made the uk top 100, it did however reach no.1 in italy. Always said the italians had good taste

Re: The 80s music thread
This track holds a lot of memories for me. Unfortunately as with a lot of my relationship memories, it didn't end well. Memories of the girl I loved more than any other.

Re: The 80s music thread
I don't really mean these to be mysterious and cryptic - it's just that I annoyingly can't work out how to show the link to the player that everybody else seems to be able to do. Sigh.

Re: The 80s music thread
The Alan Parsons Project have always been one of my favourite bands.
For those unfamiliar, this British session group made eight albums between 1975-1987 and although never being in vogue in the UK, sold 50 million albums worldwide. I think what brought my interest to this act were the poignant lyrics which tackle themes of melancholia, anxiety and loneliness. having said that their music is classy stuff being very orchestral-driven. See what you think to one of their epics - "Silence And I". Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=z8G6WMIpWXI |

I've gone Jam mad for the last few weeks. It's taken me thirty years to forgive Paul Weller for splitting them up. They were my first love. |

Re: The 80s music thread
I like the look of this thread! Good music choices here from my schoolgirl days! Duran duran, aha, t'pau, and hall&oates, yes these are good choices guys! I confess to having had a big crush on Simon Le Bon and Morten Harket!!
What about the classic rock bands of the era? Does anyone else here like bands such as Marillion, U2, The Bangles, Pink Floyd, Blondie? |

Re: The 80s music thread
One of the greatest talents of the eighties that for some reason just disappeared...............he is still around, but you have to go looking for him and his name is not Terence Trent D'arby anymore.
I was totally bowled over by him when I saw him live on the Tube. I was not into this kind of music usually. Guitar based bands was my thing. I've just had to replace one of his old albums I no longer have. He still sounds so good. |
