Wish i could rewind 9yrs and persuade my parents to try marriage counseling. Neither of them are in a better place and it's fragmented the family for the worse. It really bothers me more than anything that our ageing dog is in a hectic (with people) household with my dad's partner who i strongly suspect doesn't want her. They're talking about getting a new dog, which i think says it all. If i was in a position to look after her myself, i'd almost force it to happen. I'd love to be a fly on a wall. I don't want to believe she's being mistreated or unloved.

To think accidents like these use to be much more common about 30 years ago. I know this was 98, but it seems like plane crashes are much rarer nowadays. I was a kid in the 90's, actually a toddler. I know kids now see the 90's as the olden days probably but I don't.

But even train crashes seemed much more common in the uk 20 years ago, it's kinda surprising in a way.

Had a telephone assessment with the talking therapies service today but it's only made me feel worse because the waiting list for therapy is currently 35 weeks!
I cannot cope at the moment how the hell am I supposed to carry on for another 6 months or more?

^^^ There are some charities and organisations that do therapy on a sliding scale, so you pay what you can afford. Maybe you could look into something like that so you could see someone sooner? (It's a shame you would have to pay at all though.)

A city near me called Exeter had this woman murdered at 3am in the high street. I thought it was a hard solution to monitor woman at that time of night. But Exeter have come through and delivered a solution of a 'safe space' at night that people can go to, and enhanced CCTV. Fair play to them.

What are you supposed to do when your anxiety is so bad its preventing you from undergoing a medical procedure?

An endoscopy, to see what's causing my perpetual acid reflux.
It's not just the procedure that makes me anxious, it's everything about going to the hospital, what they might find in my stomach etc.
I'm in a very bad place mentally at the moment but I need to find out what, if anything, is going on with my stomach because its causing a lot of discomfort and anxiety.

Sounds like your stuck between a rock and a hard place. The question you need to ask yourself is is your acid reflux worth suffering to avoid the thing that's making you anxious

^^ You could perhaps ask your GP if it's possible to have some medication to take to make you calmer when you're going to the hospital? And then have the sedative for the procedure while you're there. Can someone go with you to support you aswell?

My partner is waiting for surgery for his acid reflux. He has had at least three endoscopies and has to be sedated as his anxiety is severe during the procedure.

It's horrible, I've had reflux for 15+ years but it's never been as bad as it is now.
I think my anxiety is playing a part in making it worse.

I did get some diazepam from the doctor but I had to drive myself there so I couldn't take it.
I'm a very anxious passenger and there are only a couple of people who I will ride in a car with and they weren't available on the day.

I hope your partner is lucky and doesn't have to wait too long.
Surgery has been mentioned to me, specifically the Nissen Fundoplication which sounds like a torturous procedure and as I can't even get through an endoscopy I don't think surgery is an option for me.

Whilst I am waiting for the doctor to decide what to do next I shall be focusing on trying to reduce or manage my anxiety and see if that helps with the reflux.

This womans voice and appearance actually reminds me of people I’ve seen in the past that are confrontational, as in ready to call you out.

My fella didn't get to bed til 230am last night and it annoys me.
I know there's a few night owls on here who will probably think I shouldn't be moaning about it but surely it's not healthy.
He doesn't work.
Most nights he goes to bed around that time.
Don't think he's insomniac cos when he does go, he'll sleep 8 hours straight.
He's just staying up watching tv .
In fact that's all he's doing right now.
He'll get up at 10/ 11 am. And then just watch tv right through to 1/ 2am. I just don't get it.
He's diabetic too and it's not good for him.

Sometimes I think he doesn't care.

Guess I'll have to talk to him later but Im a coward and I hate confronting things
