It does seem to have a link to stress in many people.

He's been waiting years sadly. He can't even lie down to sleep.

I'm not sure of the name of the surgery he is waiting for but fundoplication does sound familiar. It is key hole surgery with possible same day discharge.

On the latest Eastenders episode there was a guy. I think he is meant to be autistic. They made him socially awkward but a good musician. It made me think in the uk there is still some progress to be made with autism awareness. I felt like the character was unaware of his social awkwardness but in real life I think it goes both ways. An autistic character might try to mask their social awkwardness. I think you can’t portray autism through just one character as the condition is diverse.

But then there is a kid in the show who has autism.

They have an autistic child but the man I’m speaking about was never called autistic but was socially awkward and spoke in a particular way.

Why do doctors find it so difficult to accept a suggestion from a patient about what might be causing their symptoms?
It's as if something can't exist unless they thought of it.

You know how there is constant talk of pretty privilege and how people are more friendlier to you if you look good. I see the same thing with intelligence or athleticism. It’s just that the other things are less visible in a way.

^^ It's a kind of ego that comes with the job I think, they are supposed to be the ones that diagnose and treat the patient. If the patient suggests what might be wrong they then feel like their job has been undermined! It's the same with not listening to or believing a patient, but listening more if a patient brings someone with them who backs up what they're saying *sigh*

^^ Actually the best kind of doctor is one who says "I don't know what's going on with you so I'm going to refer you to someone who will."

I'm thinking I can't face seeing the crisis team tomorrow. They r trying their best but the psychatristeont put me on anti depressants even tho they keep going on about it but they are willing to changee my depot injection as that wasn't helping. I said they can't help me , they keep saying they want to help.

I think one of the reasons I like music from the 70s/80s is that many of the artists look very awkward and unsure of themselves in the music videos and live performances. I find that endearing and relatable. It seems a bit different now, generally speaking. My perception could be completely wrong, but that’s how it looks to me.

It's hard to hold down a job without getting depressed. The jobs I do are not overly hard for me but the social interactions are. And it's so frustrating.

I need to get myself back to work.
I haven't worked for 3 weeks now and for a few months before that I was only doing odd days here and there, I haven't managed a full week since the summer.

I know the longer I leave it the harder it will be however I still feel very 'fragile'.

Bloody xmas. I'm very much looking forward to Boxing day evening when all social commitments are fulfilled, done and dusted, and i'm back home looking forward to some proper time off.

Everything's such a ****ing struggle. Life shouldn't be this way. I long for the day where i'm in a position where i get to choose my struggles. Lol, that ain't happening.
