-social skills
-product notes, help and reviews
-techniques
-motivational/useful quotes
-fitness (To shy to go to the gym or ask someone else for help?)
-appearence/fashion (can't ask your friends about it?)
-productivity/will power

We could have a sticky topic for motivational quotes, useful links and topics of interest and possibly a topic where members say there top 5 or 10 products.

That would be great
yay - glad you both liked the name suggestion!
as long as the forum wasn't centered specifically around products as its main focus, then i'd be all for it. however, it might be a complete pain in the bum for the mods to implement at this time.

(maybe there could also be a success stories thread, for people that have overcome their SA and want to give us all some handy hints and positive feedback - I really appreciate those type of posts a lot but atm they tend to be quickly lost in the Social Anxiety room)
Yeah that would be a great idea

If you need more moderators for that forum, I wouldn't mind and i'm not exactly new at it either

I think its a great idea. All of the self help stuff seems to get drownd out by 'anti self help' stuff

We're going to look at setting up a self-help forum as a sub-forum to the SA Room, most likely setting it up tomorrow evening. We'll see how it gets on over the coming weeks and months. Hopefully, it will be successful and become the sort of addition to the board that SeaW and others have highlighted. Some suggestions for existing threads, etc. that could be moved to the new forum would be very much appreciated

I went through the first 50 pages of the Social Anxiety forum and picked out the following based on titles and content. I'd be happy to go through the next 50 pages and do the same if that helps...

Self-help books/audio/experiences/etc

I'm not sure success stories in that section are nessecery since we already have the trophy room except perhaps as examples of how to do it.

i wondered about the overlap with the trophy room too. as Pal says though, perhaps the self-help forum could encourage more discussion and swapping of experiences about how people successfully manage to overcome certain obstacles, or achieve specific goals. the trophy room's focus currently isn't so much on discussion, but more on simple acknowledgment of personal milestones, which is a slightly different angle in my opinion.

Actually I had that same thought when I woke up this morning
Although the trophy room does tend to be about specific events rather than beating SA completely...
