The questions were interesting though. I am sure my Dad is somewhere high on the autistic spectrum, especially the questions about numbers, obsessions and patterns.

However, he is socially confident yet lacks empathy.

Totally opposite to me.

I'm a new member to this SA forum, I've just done the test and scored 37. I have been to the doctors regarding Autism etc but all they say is it could be social anxiety. I can't be sure but it seems like they are fobbing me off. My 13 year old daughter is very much like me and so is my mum.My sisters have all said that there has always been something a little different about me but they couldn't put there finger on what was different. So I am not sure where to go next, does anybody else have this sort of problem or any advice as to where I can go from here as there does not seem to be a lot of help out there.

Hi,

I scored 28, so this means I have AS, ot's a fairly high score but not seemingly into the Autism range?

44!
Obviously it's important to understand context as well, so the questions are somewhat grey, I find.

Does AS also involve misreading text?
example: on a jobs page I saw an advert for a "7.5 tonne driver".
My mind conjured up a vision of a fat hulk trying to get into a Ford Ka.

Sometimes I misread context, and take a few moments to re-orient my mind.
I can relate to the questions about finding it difficult to follow fiction, or interpreting peoples intentions, yet can spot changes in their appearance, such as if they had used a different lipstick or mascara, or wore a new piece of jewellery.
weird.

27. For some reason I wanted a higher score as it would explain so much. Oh well. I guess this just speaks of the way we like to have little labels to describe all our problems.
