how long did it take for your ram-man to break?

yeah his sword was kind of bent by default if i remember. plus he came with these straps that went round his torso, lost within a week for every child in the land, i'll wager

back before my main childhood started, my parents were loaded and i had castle greyskull

my rich friend had skeletors cat, it was all lush and velvety, unlike my rigid, unmove-able battle cat

I actually swapped my buzz off for ram man with my mate...but he wanted to swap back..and sent his mum around to demand ram man back
So in total i only had ram man for one day.....but tis a day i will always cherish.

That was the one rule of swapping you should never break..bringing a parent into it:rolleyes:

Lego was awesome. I had tons of it - all donated to a children's hospice many years ago. I lusted after this:

alas, it was too expensive.

Loved Meccano too. I once made a fantastic crossbow that fired darts. Happy days.

Both products are now a pale reflection of their glory days.

Had all sorts of different random lego things as a kid, the two I remember vividly are

and most of all:

Pull em apart, try the other model. put em back together.

I also vaguely remember the heli rotors being motorised, but I could have nicked the motor bits from a different kit and done that myself.

just thinking back to them lego days...we were provided with boxes like this to keep our lego in -

...and so, no WONDER all the wee bits got lost! MUUUuuUUUM!

also, batteries and all sorts ended up chucked in there, and they eventually leaked, so latter attempts at lego play involved sticky, bitter fingers. on reflection, non-neglectful parents would have perhaps washed the lego in a solution of alka seltzer or something. but NoooOOOoooo

Because of this thread my gf and I found ourselves downstairs in Hamleys today, playing with the Lego they put out.

They have a six-foot Buzz Lightyear made of the stuff and a black piece under his nose would have made him a perfect Hitler 'tache. We were both sorely tempted but we were too cowardly.

I regret not doing it now.
