Are your pets getting freaked out by the fireworks?
My cat is sat in her basket and every so often a firework goes off and her heads bops up looking concerned. I've put some music on now.

Aww. My kitty doesn't mind the noise, not sure how my bfs will react though (she only moved in in July and lived in the country before).

Kai seems fine. I haven't heard him cry or anything and they are going off pretty much constantly right now.

Re: Are your pets getting freaked out by the fireworks?
My cat is currently hiding underneath the settee! She is quite easily upset so we just leave her alone in her hiding spot until it stops. It's the same every year.

Re: Are your pets getting freaked out by the fireworks?
I don't think my cat is very bothered by them! We've only had her for a little while as she was a stray/lost (couldn't track down any owners and didn't have the heart in the end to rehome her, so we kept her ), so weren't too sure how she would react. She usually spends most of her time in our greenhouse, but we've shut her inside for now just in case she freaks out. She doesn't seem too bothered, so far.

Re: Are your pets getting freaked out by the fireworks?
Nah, my dog has worked around guns before at pheasant drives so he's used to the loud noises and banging, he is making quite a bit of noise though but he's probably just hungry.

Re: Are your pets getting freaked out by the fireworks?
Surprisingly not. Quite lucky because she is scared of virtually everthing else. People, other dogs, wheelie bins, cardboard boxes, shopping bags e.t.c.
I would expect her to be petrified of fireworks but she doesn't even seem to register them. My previous dog was not scared of anything except for fireworks and actually one time I found him covered in blood and trapped in the shower cubicle where he'd been trying to claw his way through the ceramic base so that all the skin had come off his paws |

Re: Are your pets getting freaked out by the fireworks?
Sid has been shaking and panting all night bless him, he is only just starting to relax and seeing him relax kinda puts me at ease a bit too. I really hope no more fireworks go off because he must be dying for the toilet and is to scared to go outside and wont go toilet inside he is to well trained lol.
for Sid and all the pets who have had a rough night lol. Oh why not a for the owners too as its not easy watching our pets suffer! Sparks. |

Re: Are your pets getting freaked out by the fireworks?
basil is ok with loud bangs. he reacts more to the visuals than sounds apart from those rockets that whistle, he don't like those.

Re: Are your pets getting freaked out by the fireworks?
My dog Merlin hates fireworks, my dad has to sleep in the dining room with him with the music turned up loud. They make him shake and he's nervous the next night because he expects them again. He always wants to go upstairs to my room to hide but he doesn't realise you can hear them just as well up there. It's not nice for the animals We should get him some special ear plugs.
