While part of me is keeping positive (I still have a job, my SA isn't too bad, I'm lucky to still have a few friends), I'm also very fearful about how I'm going to get through this winter. Winter isn't a great time for me anyway. But this year....hmm. While my area hasn't entered lockdown, I feel it won't be long until we will be. I partially enjoyed lockdown during summer - I spent lots of time outside in nature, but that's more difficult in wet muddy cold winter. Autumn is pretty good, as there are some amazing colours, a fresh feeling in the area, and it's not too muddy yet, but now winter is certainly getting close. It also gets dark much earlier, especially with the clocks changing tonight, and I won't feel safe in my area going for an evening walk.
I used to attend Meet-up events, but these have all dried up, and won't be legally possible in a lockdown anyway. I often go on a European trip but I can't do that now. I'm losing friends as years go by, I'm getting less and less close with my family and I'm deeply concerned about job security and my future in general.

Obviously with some of the things I'm worried about, many people are having similar problems at the moment, and some of them might be "first world problems", but I'm finding things difficult right now and I'm worried it's going to get worse.
I'm okay thanks, was just having a very tearful day and having a go at people. (blame the hormones!) yes everyone is struggling at the moment, will get worse with mental health issues- I hope you don't go into lockdown, we aren't in lockdown here either. Shame you can't go away at the moment, change of scenery always helps. I really hope your job doesn't get affected. it's a worry for everyone at the moment I suppose. Take care x

We're going into tier 3 on Tuesday

I have heard talk of a tier 3.5/4 mid November too.

Apparently it’s something called Labyrinthitis - must surely be the best named ‘itis’ out there! But it’s worsened by lack of sleep so that explains it. Had to have a precautionary pre op Covid test today. Throat and nose. But for the nose.. crikey! For anyone having to do it themselves there’s no way they’d go as far up there as they obviously need to! Was over pretty quickly though. Have to isolate now until Tuesday. Just looking forward to Wednesday afternoon when hopefully I’m home! Going to make some cookies tomorrow for me to munch on next week I think.

Best of luck for the operation - hope the cookies see you through!

Yes I do find it odd in tier 3 that hairdressers, beauticians and gyms are staying open.

I would imagine tier 10 will involve staying in one room of your house/flat only and not travelling into other rooms.

I'm all a dither.

Viewed flat in the neighbouring village its very nice on the inside. Bit smaller than where I live now but carpets are down (which I thought was unusual) a new fitted kitchen, an actual shower! there is of course a downside (naturally) it sits over looking the train line so I will have to put up with train horns going by from about 6am to 11pm ish. I do like it though. It felt more sound proofed than where I am too. Neighbour across the way has kids so don't know how that bodes...
Still not sure if its social or affordable rent.

Spoke to the manager of here face to face and I asked her how likely it was she will be able to get my neighbour out. She thinks it will tricky if his mum fights it with solicitors etc.. Apparently the police let him off with a caution!!! I was flipping livid when she told me that. He has lost his car, which he hadn't paid for so atleast some punishment but seriously.... . They have had a big push about drugs locally and signs up all over the place 'rat out a rat' well what's the ****ing point when the police couldn't give a shit.
She has also offered me a property but in the neighbouring local authority. So might see if I can have a look at that one too. Too many decisions!

^ We live right by a train line and it really doesn't bother us at all, even the horns in the early hours of the morning.

Oh that's good to know, thanks

Other people have said the same thing. I'm fortunate as there is no early hours trains. 1st is just after 6am and the last just after 11pm.

Can you ring and ask if it’s affordable/social and what the rent is? and have they given you a time to decide on the one you already viewed?
Yeah it is, just hoping to not make the wrong choice.
Yeah I emailed last night and she replied the s'morning it is social rent and a assured tenancy. Which is good. She hasn't specifically given me a time frame she just said in the email: 'have you made a choice?'. I have asked if there is any possibility of viewing the other one before accepting or declining the one i've viewed, so i'll see what she comes back with.

Thanks Utopia, Spud, Genovese and Mo

Hope you’re okay Utopia. Sorry again for being so rubbish at replying - just been generally a bit rubbish lately! Will reply soon though.

Feeling a bit more nervous about it today. Just trying to think this time tomorrow it’ll be done. Hopefully the footie will distract me a bit later and not add to the nerves!

Yeah I would say so. I imagine they don't want to lose any rent on it keeping it sat empty.
