Default Introductions

Hey all,

I'm 22, male, and from Glasgow, Scotland.

Have been struggling with social anxiety as far back as I can remember, mainly due to childhood circumstances and experiences growing up.

After leaving school, I spent a few years working on the phones as part of an IT helpdesk, which forced me to improve my social (or at least telephone) skills somewhat.

I'm now at the point where I feel comfortable calling people and discussing things over the phone, as well as meeting face to face (to some extent) to speak about stuff as long as I know what we're talking about (i.e. it's work related since I feel 'knowledgeable' in such a situation or I've had a chance to prepare in advance).

Meeting random people and general 'banter' however is where the barricades come up and the anxiety takes over again
