I hate when people who declare a time aren't on time. I find it the height of rudeness

^yeah me too. He did apologize for being late though.
Good job I called him over though. He also had a quick look at our gas fire that doesn't work. He actually deemed it unsafe ! He's shut off the gas to it and said don't use it ,as some broken coals on it makes it unsafe to use. He said better to buy an electric fire to replace it.
So something to consider

My car desperately needs a good clean and hoovering. It's chucking it down out there though, so hopefully there's a break in the rain so I can go to the outdoor hoover at the garage.

My plans are to get my haircut. I’ve said on here before that the hairdresser I go to offers a Silent Service so you don’t have to chit the chat.

I also need to shop for some new wireless headphones because I accidentally bought children’s ones last time and they squeeze my head too much haha.

Then in the evening I’m going to a Portuguese restaurant.

A snazzy haircut and a Portuguese meal! That's great, Biscuit! My equivalent is a remington haircut and a pot noodle. Which for me is great! I think the last time I went to the barbers was nearly a decade ago. I think it's because I was having to go from 0 to 60 in being sociable with someone I didn't know. Which I found taxing. Whereas the silent service option sounds great! I don't remember barbers offering that service back then. Although if I could have platonically wined and dined a potential barber for nearly a year. Possibly a dance as well. Then I might have started to feel more relaxed in the barbers chair. But unfortunately I don't remember any barbers offering that service back then. Which goes to show that there is always a gap in the market! Or something like that.

Male barber shops finally introducing appointments was the single greatest aftereffect of COVID.
Sitting and just waiting waiting waiting was always always always insane.

The last time I went to the barbers I was subjected to something called the "Turkish singe", which I'd never even agreed to.

Today I've mooched around, done household chores and hit the gym. Not too bad.

The silent service is excellent. I always worry that I'm the only one that selects it haha.

If I were a dude, I'd cut my hair myself all the time! I used to cut my hair myself in the lockdowns after watching Brad Mondo tutorials haha.

This was my dinner at the restaurant:

Name the fish?

Portuguese food is where it's at! You've got nice potatoes. Carrots. Cucumber. Onion.
Possibly cabbage/lettuce. And a slice of lemon on winky. Although I'm not a connoisseur of fish. So my best guess as to the name is Captain Birdseye.

I wouldn't know where to begin eating that. Seriously, what approach do you take and which bits do you leave?

Its name was Favis Fish Face the Third!

I left the onion because I can't eat raw onion.

Prior to cooking, the fish will have been gutted.

You use a fork and a fish knife, which is shaped differently to a usual knife. The skeleton runs through the middle and you eat the top side of the fish (including skin). Then once you have eaten the top half, you can pull the exposed skeleton out if you like, or flip the fish over to eat the other side, or just work around the bones.

As for what you leave behind - it's up to the individual if they want to eat the skin or the head.

You leave the skeleton which has the bones and any additional bones.

Hope that makes sense!

If you buy fish from the fishmonger you can ask them to gut the fish for you. I guess they would fillet the fish so it has no bones as well, but that's not really of interest to me because the bones add flavour. You can also ask them to chop off the head, but again that's not my preference.

That fish looks displeased at being served up next to some new potatoes and cucumber. Though in fairness, I probably would too.

To rest mainly, Saturday work is usually exhausting for me as the cafe I work at is most busiest that day and I have to wake up 4am for the KP job.

I'm not a massive fan of fish, despite it being readily available and part of the fabric of society where I live, which is a fishing town. I very occasionally have haddock and chips, but couldn't eat a fish served like the one above. Fish was a part of my upbringing, and it stank out the house when fried.

I know what a sea bass looks like because I regularly see beach anglers haul them out of the sea around these parts.

^^ wow - you're so lucky to be seaside-based.

Today I'm going to an art exhibition thing and then to the fish market to get some whole mackerel. Not sure what the afternoon and evening will bring. Misery? No haha

^^ sorry, clumsy! I didn't see this. It was space themed. The mackerel was delicious though, thank you. Hope your chest infection has cleared up by now - they can be lingering and exhausting because of how hard it is to sleep

Today I'm going to a board game cafe and then catching up on work in the evening.
