Left the house, despite trying very hard to talk myself out of it. Picked up some waterproof walking boots and kendal mint cake from Go Outdoors, which in theory should make going outside more appealing. We'll see though!

Went to a organised running group the morning. Based on the couch to 5k thingy.

Was nervous, but had a 20min drive to calm me down. Really enjoyed it. We did walking, running, walking, running etc.. managed it ok, tho it will step up and we have to do homework in the week. Chatted to a nice lady most of the run, so at least I didn't feel like Billy no mates.

Congrats. Exercise is great if you can get motivated and once you get into a routine, it becomes more enjoyable.

I went out for a walk this morning. I generally get very shaky and start feeling very apprehensive regarding leaving the house if I'm indoors for more than 2-3 days. As I have not left the house in 2 weeks, I was feeling pretty bad.

I'm going to make a daily schedule so I have some structure. Something like up at 7am, do my work, go for a walk, work on self development for an hour...or two, exercise/work out, do the rest of my work and off to be by 11pm (with lots of eating in between).

I'm also going to get some privacy film for my windows and open my curtains in the morning, as I currently have blackout blinds and curtains, which keeps me feeling nice and safe and snug, but I think it's good for my body to sense the daytime.

I gave in and asked for help after realising I've fallen into a severe depression. I am so angry at myself. I feel like a child again.

^^^^ Whimsical, please don't feel angry at yourself for "falling into" depression: I know only too well how it comes into your life uninvited - I wake every day wondering if this will be the day when it comes back. What you should be doing is congratulating yourself for reaching out, because depression takes your motivation and that can be the hardest thing to do. Now that you have done, I hope the cloud starts lifting soon and you can enjoy life again.

@Schmosby, I know only too well how staying indoors can turn into a habit; when I was overcoming my agoraphobia, I had to force myself to go out for a walk daily until the fear subsided and if I stay indoors for a day or two, it can still be an effort to get out. Getting into that routine sounds like an excellent idea, as does letting in some daylight - I hope it's going well for you so far and that you're managing to keep it up.

It's good to see that some of us have made such a positive start to the year and I hope you can all build on it; I need to start looking at this thread more often (these days, I visit only when I notice someone has posted, so I've missed a fair bit) and celebrating our collective achievements. I'm feeling really positive and optimistic not just personally but on everyone's behalf and hope that we can all make progress throughout the year.

Finally phoned Virgin Media to cut off the contract. Hate making phone calls, although I'm perfectly fine once on them.

Whimsical, it's quite adult to realise you need help and to be able to ask for it. It's something I find really hard, knowing when and how to ask for help and to actually do it. And to distinguish between when I really need it and when I don't and I just need to give myself a kick up the backside.

Finally put up the window coverings and they came out very nicely, especially given they cost me 50p. Now I can get some daylight in my life, while not being observed.

Also proud I finally found the courage to do it, since I had to stand in front of the uncovered window to put the coverings up, meaning people could see me, with their eyes

^^ That looks well impressive Schmosby

Only folk with SA know how unpleasant it can be to have to stand up at an uncovered window
That is why the insides of my windows are dirty - well, that is my excuse and I am sticking to it!!

Btw, what did you use to cover the window panes?

^/^^ Managed to get a pack of 2 plastic tablecloths in Poundland. They are actually ideal, let lots of light through. Used one for the windows and gave the other one to mum for the table, so two happy bunnies.

I've been toying with the idea of putting up that there mirror privacy film
I can see out clearly, and outside people looking in can only see a reflection
No nets, no blinds, no curtains, just freedom to walk around naked

Plus if I need to interview a murder suspect it would come in handy

Actually that would be the wrong way round
Gosh darn my clean up rate is gonna be woeful
The lieutenant will have my badge

Went out to the local shop with my Mum to get some food supplies and didn't come over all anxious or weird feeling (I needed to try getting out to see if I'll be able to get myself back to work on Monday, still not sure on that though).

Attended a Meetup event for the first time in months, which went quite well. Talked to quite a few people, and there were only a few moments where I just sat in silence awkwardly., which is good for me! Actually managed to have a proper conversation with people too, which is a very bizarre experience for me.

Really nice to talk to some new people, which doesn't happen often. Its a shame my local Meetup group is a shadow of what it was - used to be really popular when I joined a few years ago, but now theres not much going on. Hopefully some more events will happen soon.

Went back to the scary aerobics class and it was a lot better than the first time. I think partly due to eating something an hour of so before which meant I didn't have a blood sugar crash, and partly because the trainer was more vocal about what you could do if you couldn't manage the proper moves just yet (eg side stepping instead of grapevining).

Fixed my rowing machine. It had been showing erratic numbers, my distance was counting up too slowly and stroke rate was staying at 00.

While I was trying to find a solution, I found out that the monitor has useful things built in, like interval training, which is something I've been doing manually.

Looking forward to see what progress I've made while my monitor was pooped.

Just repaired a leaking close-couple cistern,
Took it all apart, fitted new washers brackets and put in a new syphon valve,
Bolted it all together and voila, no leaks (apart from the ones I'll take in it )
Pretty chuffed,....whilst remaining cautious,
But filled and flushed it about 4 times now and seems fine, .

Now to get on with all the other housework that needs done

Managed my first straight 3k row yesterday and repeated it today. That's only 10mins rowing, but given my limit was 500m not that long ago I'm pleased. I've also realised that the second 1k is where my body screams "Stop!! you're going to die!!!". Once I get into the 3rd 1k I settle back down, so I think I'm going to try to progress by 1k per week until I'm doing 10k, see how that works out.
