Your Friday night of choice...
Hey guys,
I’m looking to meet new people who won’t be put off with awkward silences and have some understanding of how social anxiety works. I don’t really think you can fully understand anxiety unless you suffer from it. A lot of my friends don’t get why I suddenly bail on things or why I’m not as social as everyone else. Or why I would naturally opt to spend a Friday night in with pizza and a movie. Surely I’m not the only one? |

I get home from work on a Friday and see no-one until Monday morning. If, on the odd occasion I do have a social engagement, I spend the whole day panicking about it and wishing desperately I could get out of it. The following day is spent over-thinking what a dull, aloof person I must have seemed to everyone. Fairly ruins my weekend! |

Re: Your Friday night of choice...
In theory, I want to hide away on a Friday evening; it's my least favourite night of the week, when the pubs and town centres are at their rowdiest. However, I can be on holiday (when I tend to lose track of which day is which) and think how lively an area is, when I realise that the reason it's lively is that it's Friday night!
Most weekend-long music festivals tend to start on a Friday, so I suppose that my ideal Friday night would be one spent at a music festival. |
