^ What did you decide to have in the end D?

I'm on a diet so of course all I can think about is food

It's obviously not good for either you or your mum to be living this way.
Your mum sounds quite lonely tbh although I totally understand why you would want your own space.

I hope that you will have the opportunity to live separately sometime soon Schmosby as I'm sure that will improve your relationship with her

I opted for a cheese and ham slice, it wasn't very exciting.

I'm now sat here thinking about how I used to be so meticulous about paperwork and now I'm just hopeless, I feel a bit like I'm just sort of blindly bumbling my way through life not really achieving anything and not really taking much in, I'm a robot.

I don't have much imagination or inspiration anymore either, it's all rather depressing and slightly worrying too.

^^ Does she like surprises?

What you could do, maybe, is surprise her tomorrow with the cat and if it's too early for her to take the cat back just now bring the cat back again next weekend. Would that work?

Thank you - that is a cunning plan. But she's an hour and twenty drive away (I always measure distance by time it takes to get there) so the cat would hate me for ever to go on two long car journeys hehe.

In the end, I told her what I planned to do and she is really excited about getting to see her cat again and a week earlier than she was expecting to :]. She was away last week - I didn't catnap her cat, btw.
Excellent. All good in the end.

^ OK, I see now. She didn't actually try to add you.

It doesn't make you seem like a stalker at all. I'd say its perfectly natural to check out your birth mother, plus Facebook is the one sending these friend "suggestions".

I wonder if you should consider trying to contact her. Is there any evidence she wouldn't be interested? Obviously up to you but it might answer some of your questions.

^ Aw, that a shame. Sounds like you are better off without her. Perhaps staying well away is the better option.

As for Facebook. I pulled away after it just aggravated my paranoia. I think for some there really does come a point when you need to walk away. Perhaps you just need to take that leap and deactivate your account!?

Facebook... hmmm.... pros and cons. I step away for large periods of time, then occasionally (monthly?) go back on it if I feel I want to dip in. Doesn't often last for long lol.

Easiest way to control it is to change your password to some 25 character monster with a mix of awkward characters. Then it becomes a pain to login and easier to break the cycle. And delete the app.. definitely delete the app..

I used to have that problem on here sometimes actually. My emoji use would be mistaken as some sort underhanded snark or mock. I suppose if you deal with sensitive types offense is more likely to be taken.

That listening to an album which reminds me of someone who I had a huge crush on a couple years ago was a bad idea.
To think that I actually thought an ugly **** like me stood a chance with someone decent, how silly of me

^ It's horrible when you look back on a time you felt positive about something and realise how stupid and wrong you think you were Not that you were! Just that I know the feeling.

Kind of makes you think you better not be positive about yourself in future so you don't get set up for a fall again.

Precisely this!
The few times in my life I have been positive it's ended up in disappointment, so I find it increasingly difficult to be positive about anything anymore.

^^ But you DO reply to people's posts with 'words of consolation and encouragement' Galatea, and in a very articulate way too. It's folk like you that make this forum a nice place to visit

I'm thinking how I'm STILL waiting to have the online medi check blood test that was meant to be far quicker and a lot less stressful than visiting my local Surgery. I've currently got a big bruise on my arm where the Nurse at Superdrug tried to take blood but ended up aborting the attempt because she couldn't find a vein. Medi check said for an extra £16 on top of the £174 already paid (are they having a laugh!) that they would send a (hopefully) more experienced Nurse to my home and that they would be in touch. But so far nothing. What do you have to do to get a blood test?

I shall probably die while I'm waiting

I was looking as savings interest rates last night and realised that on 300k savings you can make just over 9k per year in interest which is more than enough to live on. So I just need 300k now.

No, I think it was maybe my mum, as she used to use a walking stick and bang it hard against the floor and she's up and down the flat most nights or could have been my other neighbours. Who knows, I slept through everything.

Interesting, very interesting

By the time I would have saved 300k I'd probably be about 120 so I don't know if its viable for me either
