It's been quite sad at the animal sanctuary where I work. First one of the ducks died, then one of the resident cats and then one of the resident horses last week needed to be put to sleep from sudden colic.

that or they got severe motion sickness from it. I know someone who can't even play FPS on a normal TV without feeling ill.

Hope you break out of it. Reinforcing thought loops are the worst.

I have to accept that I'm currently a drug addict. It sucks. : (

The worst possible out come

Everything thing will probably turn out to be okay but my catastrophizing brain says otherwise.

Thinking that the organisation I'm volunteering for is going to be socially exhausting and challenging, but really looking forward to starting on Thursday nevertheless after my visit today, everyone is very friendly and it feels like such a welcoming place

It was a little awkward meeting some of the members there who have various physical and learning difficulties, some were really eager to introduce themselves to me, others were a bit hesitant around me, but they're all lovely people including one lady who was awesomely friendly and said I was attractive haha

It does seem like a very good charity and I'm looking forward to starting and helping out in any way I can and from an SA perspective will be no doubt very challenging, but a positive kind of challenge for sure

Guess what!
I was wrong, surprise surprise, I need to get a grip on this catastrophizing before it causes problems.

Thank you gents,
I am very pleased I was wrong but also feel like a total idiot for totally over reacting to someone not replying to a text. (someone who normally does very quickly)
My mind conjured up all kinds of catastrophes, I just hope that it hasn't damaged a very important friendship.

That sounds like the start to catastrophizing about that possibility now. It's gonna be okay. No one's gonna end an important friendship with you because you were overzealous about such a thing, not unless you are doing it all day every day for ages.

I grew up thinking the world would be like an 80s road/adventure movie, I've never really got over the fact that it isn't.
