I agree completely. The forum is not fit for purpose in the smartphone world. Unless it gives a user friendly experience, most people won't bother with it. And by most people I mean nearly everyone using a smartphone. Given most people use smartphones most of the time, and the trend is only going in one direction, that is a problem that needs fixing.

With social media also I think FB is quite old fashioned, most modern social media seems highly audio and image based rather than text. So perhaps a teen use to communicating with social media might find SAUK boring or under stimulating? Id, just my thoughts. But then they still use reddit.

Just done a catch-up read-through and I can't see the pole on Tapatalk, but I'll be 62 in less than two months' time. At home, I use my laptop but can't fit that into a free cabin bag (well, I could but not with enough clothes for 10 days, or however long), so when not in the UK (or if I'm anywhere without wi-fi), I come via Tapatalk because I find the site very user unfriendly on a mobile.

I'm shocked that I got mentioned in my absence, I've always had the impression that, with a few exceptions, everyone on here finds me annoying and opinionated (guilty as charged on the second offence m'lud) and as I've never understood replacing words with cartoons and the like, people probably think I'm humourless too. I miss Ajax and the gang too (I wouldn't have made it this far without Ajax). I barely crossed paths with Winnie, but along with Kipper, I think they are the only two who have posted in my time who are older than I.

C&jf, please don't use the word "seriousness", it doesn't suit you. You be you, I've suffered far worse insults since before you were born; I'm still maintaining that 60s is prime though, despite the evidence to the contrary whenever I pass a mirror (oh and the occasional unexpected injury which takes forever to heal).

Well, if you're middle-aged, what would that make me? I don't think middle age starts at 40 anymore, I'm not even sure it starts at 50 (I know in the literal sense, it's halfway through life) in terms of attitude and lifestyle.

I know he's not quite 40, but would anybody describe Cristiano Ronaldo, for instance, as middle-aged?
