^ Aw well best of luck for that. Don't sell yourself short, I know the interview part is a big hurdle and from some of the things you posted about in another thread I wouldn't want to be engaging with that type of system either! But if there are any jobs that you know you could do but the only thing stopping you applying is the interview maybe give it a go anyway. If you get an interview and it goes as badly as you think then atleast you know where you stand, whereas if it goes a bit better than you expect maybe that could open up more options for you (but anyway don't listen to me, what do I know, I'm not employed!)

Being sat in a closed room being interviewed and trying to come across as a regular person is my nightmare, even if it was with really nice people. I dislike attention at the best of times and i completely fall apart when it's focused attention.

^ I'm assuming you had to attend an interview before you got your last job, and the one before that...so why wouldn't you have a successful interview again? Also, you have years of work experience and of being a good employee so surely that must make a huge difference to your employability?
Dougella is right that you shouldn't sell yourself short. With some self belief and luck I think you have every chance of eventually finding something that perfectly suits you Rocket Spud

@ Consolida
The lack of self-belief is a great deal of the issue. I didn't interview for my previous role - it was an informal meeting (in a supermarket cafe) where i was briefed on the job and asked when could i start, basically. My job before that was via the contact that i'm currently in touch with. It was a small company in an industrial unit and i was brought in quietly 'through the back door' kinda thing.

^ Ah I see. I'm the last person who should be advising about jobs and interviews as I've been a total failure when it comes to that sort of thing but I will say that all of us here have every belief in you so I hope that helps just a little bit!

I'm sorry to hear about your uncle's cancer diagnosis and your nan's mental decline It's never a good time, but I can imagine that all of this has hit you particularly hard while you are grieving for your mum

I'm feeling so sad. Im going out with my husband and son tonight to 'celebrate' being another year older, as the last two years were spent in lockdowns, but of course I'm missing my mum terribly. Although I'm meant to be dieting I'm going to have the biggest dessert on the menu and to hell with losing weight

^ Nothing wrong with going back to bed if you need to. Naps can be good for resetting your mood, or at least making the day a bit shorter if it's being a ploppy one.

Hope the sad feelings bugger off sharpish

I hate deadlines. Especially those that are effectively fake but you have to stick to anyway.
It looks like I won't have much of a weekend.

I feel like I'm letting my loved ones down while I'm grieving for my mum but I can't stop crying. I miss her so much. Her death has cast a shadow over everything

Today, for the first time since it kicked off, I am feeling anxious about the war in Ukraine.
The thought that there is a nutcase, armed with nuclear weapons, on the other side of the planet who really doesn't like the UK at the moment is scary.

Not too chipper.

Can't even summon the motivation to get booze in for the usual Saturday night festivities. Didn't even realise it was the time of week until yesterday.

Consolida, I’m sure you’re not letting anyone down.

The fact you are *feeling* you are letting them down just shows how you are thoughtful and worrying about other people.

Consolida, I agree with the others. We are only human and can’t meet everyone needs every time so sometimes it’s best to focus on your own needs.

^ The main problem with getting a dog would be taking it out for a walk, it would probably take me for a walk instead 😂

I was trying not to post about this and focus on the positives, but I’m really struggling. The negative thoughts this past week have been intense. I feel depression is hitting hard, and I feel incredible loneliness and hopelessness.

I was recently in Germany (I realise I’m very privileged to have been able to go on holiday), and since I’ve come back it’s really hit me. It’s made me realise how deeply unhappy I am, as when I was on my trip I actually felt happiness.

I usually start to feel a little more upbeat when it is Spring, and if I do still have times when I feel down, I can easily distract myself by going for walks, travelling somewhere, doing someone with my dog etc. But this is not working at the moment. Not really sure how I can deal with this, as (perhaps I’m being dramatic) this feels worse than normal.
