On average this year there has been a school shooting in america every 60 hours.

Also, the happy piece to end the post with.... you can use an egg slicer to slice cooked beetroot.

+ =

This recent discovery has saved me no end of time
I eat a lot of beetroot.

any beetroot dining suggestions? i used to have cooked beetroot among a big roast veg selection with some hummus but i generally involved hummus far too much in my meals and am bored of it pretty much eternally now. don't really know how else i'd fit beetroot into a meal

Beetroot is seriously good for you, it's a great antioxidant,
I usually have it chopped up in salads, or as a side to totties and whatnot

Well, I have 1 whole beetroot each morning to start off with, then I make my own fake pickled beetroot which is basically just sliced pre-boiled beetroot shoved in a jar with apple cider vinegar. I can snack on this during the day and its uber-healthy.

You can add them to any salad of any sort but feta and beetroot salad really kicks arse, in a pita with hummus. Roasted works and of course beetroot crisps. I havent had the full batch of success that I would require before posting pics. Because they are so dark there is an incredibly fine line between visibly cooked and completely burnt.

I have astronomical blood pressure and beetroot really helps me keep it down. I wasnt joking about this method saving me lots of time Because of this I have become a bit of an expert A beetroot a day keeps the doctor away. In my case its 2 beetroots and its an ambulance

Incidentally not all beetroots are created equal. I buy the preboiled packaged ones. Waitrose do vacuum packed ones with a really long use by date, two brands and each has 4 or 5 in a pack, they are very nice but slightly earthy, some people dont like em especially in salads. Tesco do a non vacuum packed preboiled pack about the same size but short use by date, these are really sweet and perfect if you just want to eat it as it is in slices. Tesco do a frozen pack of diced beetroot too that is a great cheat for salads, too small for roasting or casseroles really and quite sweet. I could do an entire thread on beetroots !!!! I really fancy some beetroot now.

I had a beet juice once it was horrid, it wasnt that one though. It was half carrot I think.

My pee is 120% proof, it evaporates as it leaves me.

That chimps cant get AIDS from HIV. Even though they are the origin of the disease in Humans.

They are genetically very similar to humans and have a disease called SIV which is the ancestor to HIV, scientist thought that if they injected large amounts of HIV into a chimp they would develop AIDS. But they don't, they have a period of circulating HIV in there bodies which produces antibodies just like humans do, however the HIV virus simply disappears and can no longer be found.

Other than the amount you shake it, the length of one's member is apparently what determines the amount of post-piss pant dribble you have, because the longer the member, the more room for late-exiting leftovers.

So I've stopped putting socks down my pants and started pissing myself.

i dont agree with that, i think its to do with the pipes inside the body. i reckon that people with wee willies can piss themselves just as well as anyone else

us scots even have a saying about this whole situation, theres a culture here of not wearing undies with a kilt, so the post-pee dribbling becomes kind of important

^ What's the saying? I'm very committed to this fact that I found on a random article after a Google search, so it best be good.

Maybe it is a universal law, but just not in Scotland? Like how Coke is the best-selling soft drink everywhere but there?

the saying is as follows,

"No matter how hard you shake your peg,

that modern cars don't have conventional keys, but a card-type thing which goes into a slot; I discovered this from the hire car I had in Portugal (I almost needed a lesson in how to drive it, it was so alien). Since then, I have discovered (through conversation) that some cars don't even need the "key" to be inserted, that the car recognises its presence when one approaches the car.

^ that sounds amazing yet terrifying at the same time

how does such a big wing with so many wings manage to sustain itself! surely it's got to the point where it needs to consume blood faster than it can keep itself alive!

hmm, im not sure i'd risk going to the witches tavern.. although im sure one would have one spectacular night there, i have a feeling you may not wake up with all of your limbs and particulars...or even, in fact, any.

on an unrelated note;
TIL that chickens have an all-in-one hole called a cloacae. the lay eggs, poop and wee out of it.. although when laying eggs there's something about the cloacae turning inside out so the eggs dont come into contact with the other stuff.. still though.. it makes me wonder if we should be handling eggs with bare hands.
oh and there is something called a "cloacae kiss" lol... which is how chickens...well.. i'll just copy n paste from google
Quote:
The "cloacal kiss" is how sperm is transferred from a male bird to a female bird. The cloaca is the one and only "out door" on a bird, so it's for eggs, poop, and sperm transfer. The male and female cloacae need to touch for the sperm to be transferred, and it's been called the "cloacal kiss."

Yeah my partners mini has this type of thing, not a card as such but a round plastic thing that slots in and then you press 'start'

Loungewear being a thing. I thought that was being a slob/not getting dressed/changing for bed early. I feel very conflicted about it. I always assumed that you would get dressed, then stay dressed all day (unless your work clothes get icky or you wear a suit to work in which case you would change into other clothes that you could leave the house in.)

I think in some states in America it's pretty much legal for anyone to own a gun, you have to actually be in prison for murder before they'll say you can't have one!

^^ They should give poor people in America gun vouchers instead of food vouchers. After all, guns are a constitutionally protected human right, more so than food. So they could hunt their own food*
