Default Meetup.com

Hi,

I've just joined Meetup.com. Has anyone tried any of the groups? What did you think? Are they friendly?

Thanks,
Oliver

I'm in one in Newcastle and been to a couple of meetups - they were friendly I was shy/quiet. I went to a meal. Depends on your SA but there were quite a few people so I talked to a few, but didn't feel exposed by being in a group of only three/four.

Yeah I've been to some group meets and enjoyed it.

There are all kinds of groups such as exercise and spirituality.

I've only just joined but there seems to be a wide variety of groups. I'm hoping they turn out to be a good way to meet people.

I would say that my group is great lol

It's a simple afternoon coffee meetup set around Leicestershire.

The range of groups vary a lot depending on where you are in the country. I've begun attending now, though there wasn't anything I particularly wanted to go to in my last area.

There is a social anxiety group in the Birmingham area, which I sometimes go to. I haven't been very often due to work but I made friends and the people were very welcoming.

I'm making a group on meetup based in Nottingham, obviously a social group for people with SA, depression or anyone with social impairment, I hope to generate a lot of interest.

Joining a group is free, yes. Some groups do charge I think, as I think it may cost to set one up.

I joined ages ago, but never had the courage to go to any or anything. I have thought about trying again. Let us know how it goes
