Default Fall

So unfortunately I had an accident on Saturday in which I lost my footing on the stairs and tumbled down a few. Mum was there and stopped me falling any further. I felt OK when I got up but developed a few bruises.
I called 111 because I developed what I think is muscular pain in my right side but I cant stand properly. Im pretty sure its not broken because I can move my leg up and down but they want me to go to my local A and E and have it x rayed...so Im thinking bed rest for the rest of the week and if no better on Friday or Saturday go then? What do you think?

I wouldn't go to A&£ on Friday or Saturday; either tomorrow (around 3pm seems to be the quietest time) or after the weekend.

Call 111 again and ask the where you can get an X-ray - other than a&e. Some of the walk in centre type places can do them with less wait time.

I'd get it checked out before Saturday x

Hope you are okay, Angela

Ive got my Doctor calling me tomorrow. Im trying to hold off going to A and E as its horrendous and I dont want to sit on a stretcher for hours in pain so Im hoping its just muscular and goes away soon. It does feel slightly better today. Im panicking a bit though now and having a cry at what happened just when I was getting my confidence back moving around and now Im back in bed and cant get out

Don't look at the worst outcomes (I know that we always do), I'm sending positive thoughts to you. Hopefully it will just be some heavy bruising, fingers crossed.

Mmm yeah, I can see why you'd prefer to find an alternative. That's good that the doctor is ringing tomorrow

Hope the pain eases up

So sorry to hear about your fall, Angela. I hope you get an x-ray soon and am crossing my fingers that it's not a break. Hope it's not too uncomfortable, sending hugs

To let you all know I got an x ray at my local hospital and there was no fracture thankfully. They think its just a pulled muscle from the fall. I bpught a compression sleeve for my thigh and it seems to be working. I still feel pain but am getting up and around now and its improving!!

So happy for you; at least you know that all you need for it to heal is time (and rest).

I wanted to ask if anyone here has used a TENS machine for pain relief?
I had heard of them before but thought that you had to visit a physio or doctor.
They are reasonably priced on Anazon so I have bought one . The reviews are good too.
Any experiences?
