Holy crap, people were saying this could be a goal fest and they weren't wrong, what a second half!! 4-2, Liverpool look rampant going forward and beautiful goal from Mane who's in my FPL team

^ He's had time to buy players and hasn't. With a full and improved defence they could have beaten Liverpool.

^ The thing is with good squad additions Arsenal could have been top challengers for titles these past few seasons. What's needed is constantly pointed out but ignored.

My prediction-Arsenal to finish out of the top 4. There is no need for it to be like this.
The thing is if Wenger goes who can replace him? The best managers seem to be taken.

Bangs head against wall!

I'm not an Arsenal fan, but if he doesn't manage to land a striker like Lacazette and another solid signing before the end of the transfer window, I would be severely pissed off, I'm wondering whether this might be it this season for Wenger, the competition for top 4 places could be tougher than ever this season and I genuinely think this could the season where they miss out on it.

But what a game!

Wish Wenger would resign, he's clueless and a dinosaur. Guy gets paid £8m a year yet chucks Holding in, who was playing Championship football 3 months ago. Terrible idea.

There's more chance chance of me turning into a 36-26-36 buxom blonde than Wenger buying the necessary players.
But is it Wenger, the scouting system or the restrictions put in place by the board?

I think it does show that they lack strength in depth. A perennial problem.

Given the decimated defence who else could he have used?

Would rather have played a makeshift defence with Monreal next to Chambers, Gibbs at LB. But it shouldn't have come down to that, Wenger knew about the Mertesacker injury a month ago and the Gabriel injury should've instilled even more urgency to get another CB, but instead we have dithered, as usual. Every year we go into the season unprepared because Wenger is penny pinching or looking for "internal solutions", fed up of it. We still need 3 players, a CB, a top striker and probably a winger as well. It also doesn't help that Wenger is poor tactically, if he was Ferguson maybe he could get away with being 2-3 players short and still win the league, but he isn't even in the top 5 managers in the league anymore. There's no excuses for not improving the team, he has the money.

^There is the money but how much does the board let him spend? Statements like these do not help.

Very solid start to the season from United, not amazing yet, but extremely solid, the Mourinho organisation is clear to see, Zlatan's on fire, Pogba looks a class act whenever he's on or near the ball, even Fellaini looks good in this team, definitely clear title favourites for me. Nice to have Friday night football too

How's your betting form been of late?

I'm probably heading into a bad run after making good gains last weekend - it usually works out that way for me: hot and cold.

It's all a bit shitty how this comes out today though. Obviously they were so very stupid of him, but they are ancient posts. A lot of people can change in that time.

@RocketSpud- I've only started again with the return of the premiership/championship, and trixie last week put me up, and this week about £7 down! I thought QPR, and Swansea would be bankers, and you see what happens.
This woman who knew absolutely nothing about football used to bet on permutations you'd never think would happen because we are swayed by football knowledge, and she reckons she made money. I tried half that theory today putting a small amount on Stoke 2-0 @40/1 and you see it's Burnley 2-0 instead.

^ Yeah, i get the contrary thinking, but i'm starting to believe it's all down to whether you're hot or not. I often hit streaks where everything turns to gold and then shortly after things sour - there isn't really anything inbetween for me.

I was surprised with QPR and did look at them at one point being down. I also had Swansea to win in a few bets :/

I was pissed off that i didn't bet Chelsea and Tottenham to win - i'm not kidding, i looked at doing those as a double around the 80th min :/

First PL home win for the Hammers. Got a feeling it will be a much tougher season than last especially if we have a good run in europe. Relief to get that first win and hopefully a few more to follow.

Rashford at the death, great goal, brilliant work from Rooney, so unlucky for Hull, usually I don't agree with commentators and pundits saying late goals are so cruel on the receiving team, but in this case I would actually agree with them because they defended brilliantly all second half and ran out of steam at the worst time. United again showing title winning class tbh, the best teams always seem to find a way of winning these sorts of games.

^ Rashford really is a talent...

Was at the Spurs game today. We really don't look very good at the moment, we need Moussa back asap.

Kane, Dele, Dier all look completely knackered. Eriksen was terrible. Wanyama was great today, can't believe we got him so cheaply. Janssen works really hard and puts pressure on defenders, he might get the start over the Kane soon.

It wasn't an enjoyable game to watch but both teams worked obscenely hard and there really wasn't much space in the middle. Liverpool should have won and a draw is a decent result considering...

Really can't wait for the champions league games to start...Shame it's at Wembley, mind.

I knew Man Utd would score the moment they gave the man of the match award to Curtis Davis lol. I stood to win 8 entire pounds on United winning though so I was alright with it.

The match here got abandoned after heavy rain. The pitch was a lake

... and Chelsea are looking like a decent team again

Arsenal-no more signings ? I think that's it for now. He's spent money but has he spent well?
I think many people will say "No" .
