Default Lent

The festival of Lent is once again upon us. From tomorrow committed disciples of various religions will vow to give up some foods or festivities for 40 days.

This gave me an idea for a thread so I ask:

What would you give up for 40 days if you took part?

I would have to give up soft drinks....not good for your teeth or stomach.

P.S. Who is having pancakes tonight?

The crap I used to do for Lent... Giving something up like sweets is kinda light weight. Giving up something more essential in nature is closer to the intended mark I've always thought.
When I was a kid, one Lent I attended 8am morning Mass for the 40 farging days
These days for those that enjoy an intoxicant, giving up alcohol for instance would be a serious sacrifice (Having heard a number of people recount their difficulties enduring and lasting the Dry January this year brought that home)

I will partake of pancakes tonight however

In previous years, I have given up selling landmines in the third world, and given up seal clubbing. This year, I think I will give up burning down orphanages.

As for pancakes, I probably will. I always do, even though I don't like em that much.
I wouldn't need to do a 40 days 40 nights style thing as for me it's been more like 365 days and 365 nights
