All the snow that fell here yesterday has already turned to dirty, icy slush. Not fun.

It started snowing here at about 5AM and didn't stop until around 12. Since then it's been falling on and off. It's white everywhere outside, although the lying snow is very slowly thawing. Light snow falling at the moment.

I keep thinking that I should have asked the woman I saw on the bus on the commute home on Friday if she was okay, she seemed to have hurt her leg (and quite badly), presumably at the gym as she was in gym clothes, and I seem to think that a random stranger asking if she was okay would have made her feel better and wouldn't have been weird at all (I did keep switching between "I should have asked her if she was okay" or "no that's weird and I don't think people actually do that" in my head all the way home on the bus).

I even had a chance to pickup her bus card for her when she dropped it getting on the bus but hesitated too long and she bent down on her uninjured leg and picked it up herself (impressively easy for one leg too, she must workout quite hard at the gym).

I may have been overthinking this whole thing but I even made sure she hadn't collapsed in a heap on her bus seat when I got off the bus and as I looked at her I'm not entirely sure she hadn't been crying a bit.

I'm not sure this was worthy of posting now either.

^ She's probably felt the need to go incognito for a while which is a shame but I hope she'll back posting again soon.

I've just come home from a wonderful concert - my favourite band, back-to-back Xmas songs and lots of nostalgia. I was beaming throughout. It feels very weird to come home and not be able to call my mother to tell her about it though. Everything is already starting to feel altered and empty and she's not even gone yet

My stomach is having a right rumbleathon. I'm trying to get to sleep but it wants food. I accidentally had soup for lunch and soup for dinner, so it's no wonder that it's not happy.

If you shut up and let me sleep now, I'll get you some cake tomorrow. Deal?

I’ve cut out all the crap from my diet and bread and most of the sugar, started around four weeks ago and I’ve not lost anything at all. Is that weird?

I feel incredibly boring and I’m struggling to communicate with people again, I don’t feel as if I’ve anything worth contributing.
Not that I probably ever do but I guess sometimes it doesn’t bother me so much!

Well, finally some snow! I doubt any of it will settle mind you. I haven't gone to volunteering as I need to wait in for gas safety guy, for once I'm glad to be stuck in waiting.

^ No, not really Clementine. Itís just that this time of year seems to trigger the worst bouts of depression. Thanks for asking though

^ I know, it really does doesn’t it January is always my main 'danger month'.
Please try not to let yourself believe such horrible things about yourself though. You’re a beautiful person.

I’m feeling quite reflective, that’s never a good thing.
This has been my worst year so far, there’s a huge chunk of it that I can’t remember, that’s something that my brain seems to do for some reason - blocks out the most painful times. I don’t know if that’s normal or not.
I know I spent whole months of it in bed, my physical health has definitely suffered for that.
I’m wondering if I’m really ill. What if I’m genuinely just worthless, lazy and miserable and that’s it? I’m constantly drowning in guilt but that doesn’t mean that this isn’t all my own doing and that I deserve to be unhappy because I’m choosing not to function or contribute.

^ January is THE worst month of the year in my book. I really struggle to find any enthusiasm or reason for living at all. Like you, and probably many of us, I often question whether I’m genuinely worthless and lazy and that makes me feel even worse about myself.
I think we should all take time out to write down at least one thing per day that has been a positive in our lives. Something we’ve done either for ourselves or others and include also the things that others have done for us. Then we can look back and see that actually, none of us are really as worthless as we think that we are. It takes effort to do this. I started last January and stopped in about middle March, but in that time there were a HUGE amount of positive experiences to look back on and it did help to make me see things on a more balanced level. I’m going to get myself a nice book, and start again this January - or even before if I get the book before then!!! For those of us who only ever focus on the negatives in our life this should be a good excercise to help us change how we see ourselves.
