He's the only comedian i have gone to see live and he had me in tears of laughter. I have one of his old stand up routines on video and he was up there with the best of them.
A very, very underrated talent in my opinion.

I never watched him as a comic, but he was very entertaining character back when I watched Eastenders.

such a shame, he was quite watchable in Eastenders, one of the better characters...

I agree, he was a good character.


His stand up catch phrase was 'turn it in'. And old cockney saying meaning 'give a rest'.

rip - i remember him when he reconciled with Pat and knocked on her door in a flasher mack type thing and opened it - he was naked and had nothing on but a novelty spinning bow tie!

I heard the news last night too RIP Mike Reid, tiz such a shame i loved Eastenders when he was in it, he had a way of lifting the doom and gloom of it.

I remember that! When he left Eastenders for a while he was always off to Maaaaaaanchester! I remember runaround too and the Comedians.

I actually thought it was him when I saw the breaking news ticker tape thing at the bottom of the telly.
For some reason I assumed for a second that DJ Mike had drowned in the floods Don't know why I thought that. Probably confusing him with that guy they found dead earlier in the day.
