Can i put one copy of XP on two computers?
I had a copy of windows xp come with my computer, but my dad bought one about a year ago and no xp disk came with it (probably cos it was so cheap). we want to reformat it, and i was wondering whether if i was load the copy of xp that came with my computer (and is currently still on my computer) on to his one, would microsoft be able to tell?, and would they contact me about it etc?, what are the ins and outs of doing this?

You should be able to re-install that version of XP anywhere providing it's a legit copy and you have registered the serial under your name, it should be fine.
As for contacting you, they don't normally do that as far as i know. |

I bought a new computer a couple of months ago, coz it was spanish I had to buy and have XP installed I bought it for 129€
then tried to put it on my old computer so my girls could have it (coz some muppet removed it and put Windows PRO on it) but it wouldn't work as it was registerd to the other puter Can I use it or do I have to buy a new XP disc?? |

there's a limit to how many times you can install XP on a computer, think it's 3 or 5, after that they want a activation code which you phone up for, but what you want to do now is fine, go for it.
