Default How many?

How many people are afraid to start threads?
I am, but sometimes I start them anyway..

What’s the worst that could happen when starting a thread?

Does receiving zero replies necessarily imply disinterest?

Does receiving a negative or judgmental reply reflect on the OP or the person doing the judging?

Yes I am. It took me years of visiting the forum before I started a thread. But I think it's always a good thing to do. Even if no-one replies people might have identified with what you said, or learned something or started thinking about something that they're dealing with themselves.
Also we have to remember that on a forum for people with SA some members might be too anxious to post or reply sometimes!

I don't really get any anxiety posting online so starting threads feels okay for me. I don't often see threads with 0 replies. I think we have a few very kind members who check for threads with no replies and they then contribute

Negative/judgemental replies tend to occur during debates and discussions in The Basement and less so in other areas of the forum.
