Default Is it ok to wear a suit and tie to a SAUK meet?

I've recently bought a suit and to get the most use of it, i was thinking of wearing it to some sauk meets. Do peeps think this is ok to do?

sounds cool Auster,..

maybe make it a "posh" meet where the venue is a bit more up-market or sophisticated than usual and perhaps everyone attending has to dress-up a bit ?

I've always been a lot more tense and anxious whenever I have to wear suit, shirt and tie, etc. but maybe that's becuase it harks back to times when I've been forced to go to a big fancy 'do' with loads of people, and it seems connected to that somehow.

maybe organise a dinner-party meet sometime or a classical concert meet ?

I'd rather look like this

Than this

Anyday.

A well put together suit is a classy way to dress. You can always remove the tie after a few Vodkas just dont tie it around your head.

Ha, I say go for it. Only time I get to wear my lovely suit is if someone dies or gets married.

each to his own i guess, but just bear in mind if everyone else is dressed all casual and you come in with your 500 dollar suit .. then you are going to stand out somewhat ..and i know alot a SA peeps dont like drawing attention to themselves..

I think it depends where it is being held and what you feel comfortable in. If you'd rather be in a suit then go for it. If you'd rather be wearing the same as everyone else, then maybe not.

If it is this hot, I'd personally feel a bit uncomfortable in anything long sleeved/legged but then once I start feeling hot, my SA goes through the roof, so you might not be bothered.

Men in suits are definitely appealing to me at least
