At around 4pm here it went so dark I had to put the lights on. The wind picked up considerably and the sky turned an ominous yellow colour. It was also unusually warm. If the end of the world was nigh then that’s how I’d imagine it to be just before the Earth imploded. Apparently hurricane Ophelia has blown some of the Sahara over here and it’s covered the cars in a fine dust. That’s about as exotic as this place is ever gonna be that’s for sure.

Ooo, look at you using leftovers! Thrifty! That does sound rather good. Have you got any for tomorrow?

My walk was really, really awesome... but i should've worn less because, despite me saying that i was cold earlier, it's really misty/damp outside here and i felt quite clammy near the end, i changed my clothes as soon as i got in! I love when the weathers like that though, quite a few walkers too, it felt cosy.

I'm not really a fan of a roast chicken - I like all the wrong bits
But the soup is lovely, full flavoured and proper hearty stuff.

I wish I could go out walking more in the dark, i'd feel weirdly vulnerable. I'm obviously getting to be a wuss in my old age, it wouldn't of bothered me years ago.

Have you got any local routes that you can take? My own route is mostly pavement, there's a few pathways and a road without pavement, i wouldn't say it was unsafe, even for the vulnerable.

well I like the dark meat and the skin/fatty bits the best. I don't mind the white meat with gravy but I can take it or leave it. The leftovers for my soup were mostly made not from the scraggy bits but the best of the breast meat, lol.

Not really, well I haven't given it much thought tbh. Since moving here I mostly stay in in the eve to avoid the neighbours I suppose

I can't remember how i settled on my route, it's been over a decade since i started out walking it. I knew the area quite well anyway, so i suppose i just wandered about a bit and combined it with researching Google maps.

Sod the neighbours, just nod, say 'hi' and be on your way, ignore them if they want a stop & chat
