Re: TV programs you're watching?
^ I've only watched maybe two or three and then feel bad/disgusting/uncomfortable
for watching them. So I probably won't watch any that are about murder again! The Tinder Swindler was interesting to watch (not about murder) and Ultimate Conman is really frustrating, but interesting to watch. |

The Netflix dramatisation of it is more infuriating! |

Re: TV programs you're watching?
Cunk on Earth.
Maybe the best Cunk yet. And I had no idea it was coming until I spotted it on iPlayer. 'The Pyramids are such mysterious structures, we still don't have a name for their shape.' 'There are paintings of Jesus as a baby and paintings of him on the cross, but none of him as a baby on the cross. Wouldn't that have gotten him more sympathy?' |

Re: TV programs you're watching?
^ I don't know how she keeps a straight face
Trying the first episode of the purge tv show, I found it while bored looking through prime video. I always thought the idea had potential but the films left me feeling like they could've done more with it. I'm halfway through ep1 and still trying to decide if it's any good. Never heard of it until just now. Has anyone watched it? |

Dahmer on netflix. Me and hubby are fans of Evan Peters and I've got a morbid obsession with true crime, though I understand the show is a bit controversial

Re: TV programs you're watching?
Just finished watching Karen Pirie, a three-part drama series set in St. Andrews Scotland,..
It was quite an interesting story and definitely kept you guessing, It generally seemed very well done, better than a lot of recent drama series I've watched, It's on STV player. |

Re: TV programs you're watching?
I started watching The Mole this weekend, a new Netflix reboot of the old game show. It's varied challenges, like escape room type stuff or diving in the sea, but one of the contestants is "the mole" and working against them to make sure they fail. We don't get to find out who that is until the end and people are eliminated after challenge. It's quite entertaining although it does feel very producer-manipulated, like the contestants don't seem to be shown the challenge timers and coincidentally finish with literally one second to go while dramatic music is playing, or there are random rules thrown in now and then which weren't explained from the start, plus the person eliminated each time could well be selected by the producers to go due to being boring on screen or whatever since we don't get to see their answers to the quiz or even what the questions were. Everyone in it is unlikeable in different ways, but maybe that's the point since you're always supposed to be guessing who the bad one is.

Re: TV programs you're watching?
Am I Being Unreasonable?
The plot was... odd (in a mostly good way)... and left quite a few loose ends. But it had a nice horrible twist in the last episode that was clever and heartbreaking. It had me fairly gripped throughout and some the lines in it were hilarious. If you liked Daisy MC in This Country it's definitely worth a go - she essentially plays a middle-class Kerry that got a few more GCSEs. I've treated this like a 'Rate the last film you watched' post but this is America so I'll do what I tootin' like. |

Heartbreak High
I loved this as a child. It feels like I'm watching it through a layer of sand and grit on my iPad screen. The 90s were not kind on the viewer's eyes. |

Yep! The old series are on Netflix I desperately want to go round telling people to, "Rack off!" There's a new series as well on there, but I can't imagine it will feel as edgy as it did in the 90s. |

Started watching The Watcher and I'm actually hooked. At first I thought it was kind of silly, but it hasn't stopped me from wanting to know what happens next. Two episodes to go.

I started The Watcher it's really bad (imo). It's a bit similar to You - in that it's so ridiculous but you want to see what's going to happen next.

Re: TV programs you're watching?
I was curious about that show, but I read an article about the real story to see if it might be interesting and it sounded kind of dull... how do they stretch a family receiving a handful of letters in the post out for seven episodes?

Re: TV programs you're watching?
The Peripheral on Amazon. I've been super excited about this series because I've been desperate to see something, anything of Gibson's adapted since I first read one of his early books, and the Peripheral is damn good choice. It has a really cool take on a well-worn sci-fi conceit and it sounds like the show is very faithful to that aspect of it, which will be awesome to see.
I thought the first episode was a bit slow-going, but things start to pick up in the second. And it's super cool recognising some of the small details from the book in the show (e.g. a particular character having animated tattoos). Like Gibson's writing it doesn't hand everything on a plate to you either, which makes it more fun to watch. Also hoping it means there's a chance that the combo prequel-sequel book Agency gets adapted as part of the show (or a spin off). |

Re: TV programs you're watching?
Anyone see 'My Massive Cock' on Channel 4 this week? I only watched the first half, but the most interesting part was the "banter" between the rugby club team. It was clear the guy who was the subject of the documentary wasn't enjoying any of it (his mouth was smiling but the rest of his face wasn't) and the rest of the team were obviously just bullying him, including sending nude photos of videos of him to random people in their town without his permission or knowledge. The show seemed to skip over that part of it though and made it seem like it was all just a harmless joke.
