It's been on the verge of being cold in my home now for about 2 weeks. Still putting off using central heating - i really ought to give it a test run, but the electric oil radiators are doing a decent job of heating things up just enough. But yeah, Summer really gave up this month. It seemed to turn so quickly.

Yes, I've been under two blankets today. I refuse to put the heating on yet though, it's too early.

I've been cold since August.

I only took the blanket off my bed during the heatwaves. It was straight on after!

I have evening showers now and that keeps me warm for the rest of the evening and night. I do boil myself alive in there though.

Yes I've noticed it feels colder now, particularly late afternoon and evening.
I still prefer this over the vile hot weather we were having a few weeks ago.

Heavy duvet went on a week ago,
Electric blanket has been turned on once or twice now,

I'm liking the cosiness, but it is hard getting out of bed now,

I'm going to have to start buying some seriously good breakfast cereal,
Just to get my ass out of the cosy bed and downstairs in the mornings,
Caus' the thought of work ain't doing it,

Have never thought of the idea of a hot shower in the evening. Got to try that.

^ Because you're surrounded by building? The place i was at before, i don't think i would have had to use heating at all. I was in a flat with flats above, below, left and right, for many builds. i was cocooned. I had the bedroom window open the entire time i was there. I may have had to use heating at some point because i wasn't there for the period Nov - Feb, but i'm quite certain i wouldn't have had to use much heating.

^ Yeah, that's a good point. City folk and flatties are going to be a bit warmer.

Spare a though for us country bumpkins freezing off our country pumpkins.

^ Aw, bless your little pumpkin socks

I'm a flattie now and it's not so good. One side and the front of my flat are exposed. It's an old build too. I don't think either upstairs or downstairs are using heating atm, it's on the brink of chilly all the time. But at least i live fairly close to the coast... where it's supposed to be a little warmer? My work is in the country and it's noticeably colder there.

^^^ yeah I'm in a flat.
Three sides of my cuboid are external but one of those has no windows in. I tend to not bother to open the curtains, and my computer is probably churning out a lot of heat too.

My gas bill was £90 for the last few months,
I've got a funny feeling it's going to be quite a bit more than that for the next few months,
(they don't call me Sherlock Holmes for nothing you know)

But yeah,..I was expecting more than £90 somehow?

It's funny, but I'd say running a car is more expensive, but that doesn't seem to get all the newsworthy drama that heating your bum gets.

It's not been too bad here.
Except Friday. It really did feel cold and was raining all day.
Not put heating on yet. Got 2 duvets on bed.

The thing that really annoys me is drying clothes this time of year. We dried stuff on the clothes horse but it takes days to dry and especially when you haven't got heating on.

Weirdly, I woke up feel overheated last night. I think I might have wrapped myself up in too tight of a a cocoon.

I've stocked up of thermal vests and they are marvellous. Although it's giving me flashbacks of having to do PE in my vest and pants in primary school.

I bought a hat to keep my big fat head from freezing when I dash to the shops, but it feels weird. Have you ever done that thing where you put an elastic band around the top of your head and you can feel it slowly constricting until it pops off? Feels like that. I worry that it'll spring off suddenly when I'm doing my shopping and people will think I'm reacting to the price of Lurpak.
