Default Winning at life

Not about social anxiety or the bigger things, just those little things you get right or that go right for you

I don't even know what the rules are, let alone how to win. How about a nice game of Mornington Crescent?

There must be something you're winning at?
If you manage to get up this morning anxiouslondoner and haven't fallen down the stairs then I am putting you down for a win

That sounds good, I want to start eating porridge for breakfast, I like it with blueberries and cinnamon
I've been having granola because my son likes it... But it's so fattening, it's just like a bowl full of flapjacks

I do love porridge with apple and cinnamon. Blueberries are good too. Sometimes I have it for lunch. I***8217;m gonna try and have breakfast next week.

^ How about having it in a cup so you can sip it? I don***8217;t mean cup-o-soup (my emergency lunch!) I mean soup, soup.

I can't drink in front of people. Trying to drink a cup of hot tea in a staff room is the bane of my life.
I can eat, but not drink, I always feel like it's going to go down the wrong way and choke me.

I get a bit like that when I***8217;m nervous around people. My hand shakes and I pour tea on my face rather than in my mouth!
I used to be unable to eat sandwiches in front of people by biting into them. I had to tear pieces off with my fingers and eat it. Now I***8217;m okay because I***8217;m so ravenous at lunch time.

Salad is good. I have sliced up Quorn chicken burgers or the southern friend ones on salad. It***8217;s tasty :D but I take the chicken burgers in a separate pot and put them on the salad at lunch time - so they don***8217;t go soggy.

managed to go out 3 nights running..struggled with some of the social interaction, but I don't think I dropped too many clangers, and managed to enjoy most of it.

I managed to cancel my old Mobile contract and move to a new one. But on Thursday when my number was due to be transferred, my anxiety level was so high with me thinking things would go bad that it caused my IBS to flare up which made me feel even worse. In the end it all went smoothly, but I am still recovering from the IBS flare up.

I wish I could stop thinking of the worst scenario for everything that happens!

Not to mention travelling around Peru, which I think counts as winning at life!

I've had a couple of minor crises to handle recently, like my bus to La Paz suddenly and unexpectedly terminating at Copacabana and my flight from La Paz being cancelled at two hours' notice (as I am travelling on an emergency passport, I had to leave Bolivia that day), as well as arranging the aforementioned emergency passport after having my original one stolen in Athens. I'm getting much better at dealing with stressful situations!

On another note, I've met many people on my travels in Peru and Bolivia, sharing wonderful times and conversations, even though I won't be keeping in touch and will probably never see these people again - but I'm definitely improving my comfort levels around strangers!

I feel like I am losing at life very much in the sense of the bigger picture, but this thread was meant as much for the little things

So..
My judgemental father-in-law just called around unexpectedly and banged on the window while I was lounging on the floor reading a self help book.. I let him in and I was nice to him, even though he perched on the arm of the couch (won't sit on it properly because I let my dog on it) and even though I could see him scanning the mess in my house and now he's gone I don't care what he thinks. He hoovers his garden fence, I don't need to keep my house immaculate to please unpleasable people

Also, got my temperamental woodburner going... Fend off the mizzle and the gloom

booked all the flights for a holiday, plus accommodation and insurance, (there's 3 of us )

I see it as winning as I get nervous doing stuff like that because it involves big things you can't change really, and of course, large amounts of dem quids,

Haha, yes, you read it right. He hoovers the cobwebs off his garden fence.
My in-laws make me feel like my home is off an episode of 'how clean is your house'... But really nobody could live up to their expectations. My house is just a normal family home

I am winning today because I got my children to eat my homemade tomato and lentil soup last night, when they don't eat soup. Feel like I have force fed them some much needed nutrition.

^ Poor spiders, they're meant to live outside on fences! I don't think anyone could live up to those expectations, no lol.

Very good that is definitely a win.
