When I worked in an opticians if a customer was rude or annoying I'd sometimes leave the machine to take one ir two extra readings than it needed to, just for my own amusement.

Yeah, you never know what somebody might do if they're having a bad day. Although for me it's buying fast food. I can handle anything a dentist might throw at me but the thought of ingesting food that someone has done unspeakable things to out of spite is gross.

I always feel kind of guilty for using this website to dump my miserable thoughts onto and expecting sympathy when I rarely offer much back these days. It's usually not that I'm too busy with my own problems or that I don't care about other people, I just feel so disengaged with life these days that I don't feel like I've got anything to offer. I just assume that people want solutions to their problems, and me typing 'keep your chin up' or something margainally more tactful isn't one.

I got tired of The Walking Dead about 45 monutes into George Romero's Land of the Dead and I realised that the best the zombie genre could ever possibly offer had already been done. Not by Land of the Dead, that was a bit shit, but I thought Romero could do something great again. Took 30 minutes longer than it should have to realise it was over.
