There was a time when it was normal to get up and do a bit of stuff during the night. Can't remember the specifics but I do wonder if we haven't evolved out of it yet.
The sleep all night, wake up and work all day is more about productivity and industry than natural cycles.
I get very sleepy around 2-3pm, which is pretty normal and in some cultures acknowledged, but mostly we're meant to have some caffeine and a biscuit and crack on with the day.

not a lot you can do during the night though. I do remember reading that on the BBC it is a very peculiar sleep cycle. If it's going to be 40C in Britain in the future, then UK will have to change natural working hours.

Been struggling with sleep, but half was because my pillowcases were coming worse for wear so I got some white 200TC cotton pillowcases from Argos and slept much better.

Stuff this heat. I can't have any less bedding but I'm still sweating.
Also I really need a new bed. Mine has kind of collapsed. (Ikea)

I turned my pillow to the other end of the bed to be close to the fan and used a coldc flannel on my head and it worked

I had three hours sleep on the sofa last night, then was awake for four hours and then got another four hours in bed. I'm feeling weird today.

I was watching television on catch-up. I do lots of things at 1.50am (usual sleep time is around 3am, if I'm at home).

Sometimes.
My sleep patterns serm to be drifting later and later, recently. I expect that the hour change will reset things to some extent.

It's me again, at 2:16am
wishing for the featureless curtain of temporary oblivion, or obliviousness
but no, I'm forced into this indeterminate state
not asleep, not really awake enough to do anything
waiting for the skip to daylight button to be selectable
now this sounds like a bad poem
but I'm not interested in poetry
and now I have to use a really long line to break the meter and convince you that it's really just badly formatted sentence fragments
