Default How many places have you lived in?

It's a bit quiet at the mo isn't it? Would it be a chuckle to work out how many houses, flats, studios, bedsits, cottages, etc. etc. we've lived in over the years? Probably not, but what the hey...

Yes I'm fed up moving house as well Azi; it's an acute stress at the time, and it's a more damaging chronic stress to never be able to feel settled anywhere

As a baby I lived in 2 different houses in New Zeland.
Then I moved to a house in London (that my mum still lives in)
When my dad moved out he's had 4 different places
And now I'm renting a flat

So 8!

Were you in a Forces family? I think moving around as a child and always being the new kid at school can be a significant factor in screwing someone up.

22 was a fingers and thumbs guess, it was actually 21.

The first 2 moves I don't remember, as I was a baby. Then 5 moves up to the age of 11. Then a period of stability, until Uni at the age of 18, often with different addresses during the summer holidays. A few flat shares, and then a couple of places on my own. In my student days, I travelled quite lightly. Now I've accumulated loads of stuff, so try not to move so often!

Yeh that must be really unsettling for a child having to move that often. Me, no: lived with my parents until 22, then my own house for 2.5 years, and then mental nomadism ever since.

Blimey Genna that's a lot of moves for your age

Thanks for all the votes and replies btw folks

I moved out of my parents 5th house when I was 18 from Yorkshire to London to work as a live-in nanny in several houses. Then I wanted my own place but ended up moving 6 times in 3 years due to noisy neighbours or aircraft noise causing my insomnia. I now live in the quiet countryside.....bliss!

I lived in 5 different places by the time I was 7 due to my dad moving from being a student to then finding work (though I have no recollection of the first 3 places we lived). Then I stayed in one house for 18 years before I moved out from the family home. I'm now on my 8th house having just moved in with my girlfriend.

I voted 10, but remembering some slides of me as a toddler, it must have been at least 11... My dad used to work in a lot of third world countries. Still only had 2 family houses in UK, then 2 hallses of residence, one shared student house, one solo maisonette, and the dodgy shared flat I'm in right now.

I can!!! I've lived in the same house that I was born in for over 40 years now!

Dont know how you guys can afford to keep moving, you must have very well paid jobs, or is it just where I live that the prices are sky high?
