Luckily no as presently I have a washing machine and launderettes are expensive, although I have used them in the past. Why, do you find them a bit anxiety-provoking? I could see how if people are always trying to make small talk, but luckily in London where I live no one talks to each other.

Not at present; we have a washing machine, a tumble dryer and a long washing line so I have no need to.

I have used them in the past, though, when I was living elsewhere and didn't have the facilities at home or when the machine was broken.

Yes, currently live somewhere with no laundry facilities. It's my one outing each week...

I find them nerve-wracking. Luckily I have a small washer I can use for everyday clothing, towels etc., then I put them on a drying rack. But I have to go to the Launderette to wash and dry my bedsheets. No one talks to eachother, but it's just scary because I don't know how to work the machines and I don't want to ask anyone, I've been twice and messed up each time overpaying or putting the power in the wrong drawer.

Yes, as I don't have a washing machine. I go at 8 o'clock in the morning when there's usually no-one else there. I have around 25 pairs of underpants and socks so I only need to go about once a month.

People used to be sat round drinking cider in the laundrette where I used to live! Which is why I didn't go in there! (I prefer the bench in my garden )
Nah - I have a washer now so I don't go to the local (non cider drinking) one, but I really wouldn't like to have to go, I would feel really intimidated.
