Default Agoraphobia ?

I’m not sure whether I’m a little agoraphobic or not. I’m not one of those who can’t leave their home. If I do however it’s to go within a very small area that I know. I do have a poor sense of direction . The thought of going beyond the small area I know is anxiety provoking. I’m fearful of getting lost and going into hysterical, meltdown mode .

Yeah, I'm similar and also don't like leaving the house after around 2pm.

I dont like going into supermarkets or shopping centres which is agoraphobia. In fact, one of the reasons I used to drink ha ily was in order to go shopping without anxiety.

You may very well be right . I think agoraphobia is more common with people on the autism spectrum.

I'm not Autistic and I don't have Aspergers but I do sometimes wonder if I may have developed a form of Agoraphobia

I mean, I can go out and even travel thousands of miles away from home but only if I have someone with me - primarily my husband.
Only a few years back I used to be fine driving to the local town alone and wandering around the shops but the mere thought of doing that now makes me feel apprehensive. I sometimes psyche myself up to do it, I get ready to leave, but then can't force myself out of the door.

I hate being so dependent on my husband when not so many years ago I had no choice but to do things on my own. It's just something that's very gradually happened over the last year or two and I've lost my confidence.

^ I have to have someone with me if it's somewhere outside of the area I know . I think it's something that affects more of us than is acknowledged .

100% agree with this! I did exactly the same. Still struggle with shopping alone.

I don't know, it's something well have to do so really don't get it

I struggle a lot with being asked for ID, even though I'm well over the age for anything like alcohol. It's such a weird thing to be so anxious about because it's not like I'm trying to buy alcohol or even paracetamol while underage Also I get you about not having enough, I always triple check but still worry about it when it's time to pay. Had a card rejected a few times and it made me incredible anxious.
