Bloody hell another one bites the dust.

Lara mentioned no one PMing her so I did and she never got back after a few, and has now banned herself.

We have nothing in common though anyway, apart from SA. lol

I know what you mean, but I think people just want to feel liked and/or noticed.... yet when they actually do get a bit of interest it scares the pants off them and frightens them off.

In my time here I think I have PM'd maybe four people who never replied at all. Naturally, I wondered why in particular they would not acknowledge a message but I suppose it goes with the territory here really.

Funny enough, one or two were not shrinking violets on the site either, so a total no-reply did surprise me a little. Maybe they just thought I was a tit and didn't want to tell me.

I'm sure lara won't mind me saying but she chose to leave because she felt she had gained all she could from the forum, nothing to do with PMs to my knowledge.

Even if someone feels unable to reply to a PM, due to their anxiety, I would imagine it is still a nice thing to have received a PM.

It isn't that funny.

You can't always predict how you will respond in a given situation. By "moaning" about not receiving PM's, they may very well be under the impression that they will have the capability and confidence to respond once that chance presents itself.

However, even if they don't think they can respond under that situation, acknowledgement about not receiving PMs is a legitimate acknowledgement. Perhaps they aren't actually "moaning" about it, but they are instead recognising that the fact under question is indicative of a wider problem they have with communication.

I prefer not to judge people and dismiss their words as "moaning". I prefer instead to suspend judgement and try to comprehend the reasoning of an individual when the information presents itself.

I think she felt like she wasn't getting enough back from other people.

She was nice to me and others, and said nice things when we were down, and tried to encourage us etc, but she felt like she wasn't getting back what she put in.

I thought that I was one of those people as she'd been nice to me but I never PM'd her, or spoke to her much.

So I sent her a few PM's and we spoke a bit, and then she banned herself the same day, or the day after Craig did I think.

She's got her own issues going on and it's just very complicated trying to connect with other people sometimes.

I owe a couple of members here PM's but I've not replied yet for all sorts of reasons.

I'm struggling to see the point of trying to get to know people more on here as there's so many things that get in the way.

Right now I just feel like having banter on the forums, and that's it.

Right now I want to eat like a pig and watch MMA, and do bugger all else.

Feel kind of bad about Laracroft leaving, we'd PM'd a fair bit but I hadn't been able to get back in touch for a few weeks due to having a minor breakdown. Probably paranoia on my part, because I'm not nearly that important to have that much influence, but I just hope I didn't contribute to her feeling ignored. Hope you're doing alright, on the off chance you read this.
