Joe's Introduction

Hello everyone,

My name is Joe, I'm 26 and I live in Cornwall in the south-west of England.
This website was recommended through my local CBT-practitioner's own website, though I have visited in the past.

I've had social anxiety from my earliest memories, and a nervous disposition has defined much of my life. On rare occasions I've experienced severe anxiety-attacks, which have been the lowest points I have ever reached. I did pursue CBT through my GP surgery last year, and found it to be somewhat helpful - however I didn't fully commit, was reluctant to engage with the therapist, and eventually dropped out. Things carried on as usual for me until last Sunday when I had another anxiety-attack and applied for more CBT (and was prescribed some Propranolol).

Given this is my second-time around, I'm determined to apply myself 100% to the CBT treatment and anything that may supplement it. Being a part of this support group plays a role in that, so please feel free to engage with me at any time. I look forward to sharing in this community and helping others wherever I can.
