Should have a warning in the title about how miserable it is.

Bit late to the party with this one.

First half really good. Fast pace, interesting story.
Then it's as if the script was handed to a work experience school kid and told "You there! Write the second act!"
And what follows is just piss poor.

I have a bit of a bathroom/toilet phobia. So that toilet flood scene had my stomach wavering.

So watch the first half only.

Sketch Artist 2- Hands That See.

Nice film. Courtney Cox plays a blind rape victim and murder survivor who, with the help of a sketch Artist, identifies and convicts her attacker.

Cox does a fine job as a blind rape victim.

Interesting film. A fantasy drama about pre teens escaping reality. The girl who plays Leslie is outstanding. Gets very tragic towards the end.

Outstanding film, going straight in the keep bag.

Brian Cox and Kate Beckinsale (IQ 156) are brilliant. Always good to see bullies get their comeuppance. The end is a real shock.

Set It Off

Very good film. Stars Jada Pinkett Smith, Vivica Fox and Queen Latifah as women down on their luck, robbing banks. Some very powerful performances.

The Great Escaper

Saw this in the cinema today. Incredible film, definitely going to get the DVD when it comes out.

Michael Caine plays the lead. The true story of a 89 year old D-Day veteran who escaped his care home to attend a 70 year memorial in France. Beautiful film, powerful, funny and touching.

The bit where he meets the German veterans, including the German who fought on the same stretch of beach was particularly touching.

If you like nice touching films, you'll probably like this.

Inglorious Bastards

Watched this with some trepidation, I'm not normally a fan of Quinten Tarantino films. This proved to be an absolute diamond.

The actor who played the SS colonel, Christoph Waltz, was outstanding. Definitely deserved his Oscar. Brad Pitt was also good. Loved the girl who played Shosanna.

Very glad Shosanna got her revenge, even if she didn't survive.

The ending was perfect.

Interesting film. Certainly entertaining. Got one of my favourite actresses in it (Charlotte Riley). Is a little long.

Dinosaur(2000)
For years I somehow remembered this film of dinosaurs of getting to this green paradise but had no idea what the film was. And it was this one.
They spent 65m on this film back in the day. It’s model design is a bit naff. But it’s reasonably entertaining.

It's alright. It was a bit bloated and muddled. Full of great ideas, but wasn't very coherent. It was a struggle to fit all the big ideas together.
But I do respect the effort.

I watched Life the other day. Pretty big names in it and a pretty fun watch. For scientists studying life however, their lack of controlled environments is hilarious.

But I enjoyed the film a lot. The creature design is fun and it has the wonderful Rebecca Ferguson in and a little bit of a crush there.

The Old Oak

Outstanding, classic Ken Loach. Gritty, moving and brutally realistic. Deals with Syrian refugees moving into a small northern mining town. The racist comments are exactly what I've seen and heard. Has some very sad and shocking moments.

Some numpties have labeled it leftie propaganda, just as they did with I Daniel Blake and Sorry We Missed You. The same people who'd never watch it in a million years.

I thought about watching that new Matrix film, but I can't remember what happened in the other 2 sequels, and I don't particularly want to watch them again to find out, so why I thought about watching another Matrix sequel I don't know.

Superman 2

Better than Superman 1 IMO. The baddie girl was rather tasty. Apparently the actress also played Deathwalker in Babylon 5.

The ending where Superman gets pay back on that trucker was good to watch.
